Since splitting with my misses 2 months ago i've been drinking anywhere between 8 and 14 beers a night.
Is this just a phase or do i need to seek medical help?
No desire to drink throughout the day though just the evenings. Cheers

Do you drink until you are drunk and sleepy? Units are units and every night will do you no good...

Yeah basically drink until i'm drunk and sleepy.
Don't really want to give it up though as most of my socialising involves drinking with friends/on dates

As long as your still eating and not fading away then not that bad imo

Also what % are the beers ?

Beer van protect you from heart disease but maybe not 14 pints a night ( 12 bottles maybe )

5% better than weaker also imo as you would end up drinking more 4% than 5%

Alcoholics Anonymous has a list of 20 questions to help you decide if you are an alky.
My view is that 8 or more Yes answers means you need to seek help, not that I'm an expert on this
My favourite ones are:
4. Is drinking affecting your reputation?
20. Have you ever been in an institution ( e.g. chit chat forum ) on account of drinking?

Ok, I made that last one up.

You have an addiction/habit, call it what you want...because if you can't have night off then you are an addict, simples.

I used to drink heavily every night and would have described myself as a functional alcoholic in a senior position, nobody knew how much I drank as I was never late, never hungover and did a good job. Only thing is it wiped me out for the weekend! Then a just slept..Still drink but a really concerted cut back and not at all during the week. Saves £££s and my liver because like you I'm not immortal  Scared

Heavy drinking makes diabetes even more likely.
Gout is something else that's on the increase and can be precipitated by drinking.
Even cancer is more likely for heavy drinkers.

If you drink that amount each night there's a good chance that you would be over the drink drive limit, especially if you go out early.

Don't drive in the mornings so no problem there. Was texting my dad when in the shop so totally forgot to ask
for brewdog. Being a villa fan is not helping my drinking right now Laugh

By:

When: 02 May 17 21:55
You will be bloated with the beers obviously

There is plenty beers out there that dont bloat as much

mind you i cant eat anything after 3-4 days so if your every night then be hard to eat

you must be a grafter though if you can make work every day after drinking

you will be sweating it out

be good if you where a postman could have a few on the round

It's a fair amount, particularly if it's every night. I would imagine you're developing a (un?)healthy tolerance as well.

You seem to suggest you might be using it as a crutch, which could form the start of a problem. You should probably try and address that rather than the drinking.

I do do manual work so plenty of sweating it out the next day. Would'nt drink during the day chaser.
Dstyle yeah thats something i need to look at but its filling the void/time of having no misses/kids.
