A businessman who was shot dead 'in his bed' during an apparent botched burglary has been named by police.

Guy Hedger, 61, was gunned down after discovering "at least two" intruders at his £1million home in East Dorset.

Can't see how he discovered intruders from his bed ?

Is this a ' botched burglary ' or a professional hit ?

What do CCDA  think !

Why would burglars have guns?

He had worked for LV and Direct Line.

Surely must be more serious than a dispute over a no claims bonus.

Not the first time he'd been prodded with a weapon in bed.

Just sent this to my daughter.....

"È questo il capitolo Segala della mafia italiana? Se non vuoi svegliarmi con la testa di un cavallo nel tuo letto, mandami 10 milioni di euro"

What an incredible coincidence!!!!

Usual reporting errors.....

How does anyone know he saw at least two intruders?

Was he in bed or not?

He was reportedly shot in front of his Husband!

Did the husband also see these intruders?

Time for thinking out of the box here....

My suspicions are against the "husband"!!

Burglars have digressed a lot in recent years. Apparently they steal children now as well as assassinating  gay insurance brokers..

The dive from the wardrobe was mistimed maybe?

If burglars carried guns, there's no way it would be a shotgun.

It was either a hit, with the Husband as party to it or, as I said before..it was the Husband.

BBC now saying it was "targeted".

Did they paste one of those Serbian Bullseyes on his chest first?

Think of the murder of Joanna Yeates...

I don't recall Victor Tabak being mentioned earlier, plus I don't recall that his flat was investigated, or that it ever existed!

Could be wrong on that one, but that's my recollection......

The husband is 48, so that rules him out of whoever was arrested, who  is stated as 44 or 41 whichever is correct!

We still come back to why the husband wasn't also shot!

Also the statement of him being shot in bed, which is contradictory to what we are now told!

And again, we are told that he saw at least two intruders, but that obviously came from the lips of the husband!

Presuming that they may well have shared the same bed, are we to assume that he heard something, and went to investigate,
and then came back and told the husband, who then also got up to see what was going on.

Unfortunately we don't have all of the information, which would assist the CCDA in forming an opinion.

You would think that it's more likely that the valuable items would be in the bedroom.
I mean it's highly unlikely that they would be anywhere else in the house, so there is a lot that doesn't make sense!

I still have to ask how they gained entry?

You would think that an alarm would be set to cover at least the ground floor, so the question is why wasn't it set?

If the alleged burglars went to the trouble of entering when it was dark, wouldn't they be mindful of the fact that there was, more than likely, an alarm which would have woken up all near neighbours!

Perhaps the Husband was in Hiding and Had a View of Events, not Realising what was about to happen Regarding the Shooting ..
