I have guests today which gives me a reason to cook something half decent....

Starting off with "Braised Celery Hearts With Garlic Butter and Parmesan"

For mains "Fillet of Pork Tenderloin stuffed with Spinach, Apricots and Prunes*
Served with "Hasselback Potatoes" and "Fine Green Beans".

For desert  "Baked Cheese Cake, with Jack Daniels Soaked Sultanas, and topped with Caramelised Bananas and Maple Syrup"

All prepped and kitchen tidy so it looks like we're having nothing....lol

Me too Delta, can't take all that butter and cheese. I guess Aunty is used to rich food and will enjoy his lunch. Fair dues to him.

I made the same for linzy (eldest daughter) and partner, when they were here from Australia, three weeks ago.

I'm not allowed to say how good it was, but they haven't stopped raving about it.

The "jus" was a more generous sauce, thickened and with added cream.

I'm always very critical and tell myself "should have done this, or that" but the guests don't know, so hey ho.

Anyway, it was good to fabulous, and I'm lucky to have some for myself tomorrow!

The starter and main were not over rich, but the cheese cake is seriously indulgent, and something to only have a few times a year.

Late lunch/early dinner shortly being dished up. Duck a l'orange, Dauphinoise potatoes with steamed asparagus and cheese and biccies to follow of course. Sounds good to me.

Had home made soup ( the wife made it) and some buttered bread.
Wasn't feeling hungry.
