If you are a pensioner claiming pension credit or other benefits you can get broadband and landline for £10 with BT, with the optional extra of £5 for a mobile with about approximately 250 mins, 500 data, unlimited wifi and unlimited texts, I think

Be careful about your landline number.
In some cases the number cannot be transferred so make sure that you have a guarantee that it can. An old lady in the telegraph today transferred to EE but then wondered why she was not getting any phone calls. EE said she was given a new number and it was not possible to give her the old number even though she had not moved. She had to go back to her previous supplier just in order to keep her number. Be also careful about your email account. I was with Virgin and they did not tell me that my email account would be closed causing me a great deal of grief. Don't have email from your account provider, I am sure they do this deliberately so you stay with them. Open something like google email now! |

I'm binning the landline annie.Staying with Virgin for the broadband so email will be OK.

I have a landline, GoOnThen, but I do not use it. I do not even have my phone plugged in. It is ridiculous that mobile calls are far cheaper than landline.

could someone confirm if they have landline broadband without phone ,seems like its allways 'knows a mate'
anyone tried mobile bb ,either tethering or with the dongle ? is mobile bb being unfairly throtled/restricted by the landline cartel ? anyone use only mobile bb at home ? the anti tethering rules appear draconian ,wtf are you supposed to do with 20+ GB on phone only or is a tablet way forward ? dont like emm myself . were being done over by gangsters , its a pure rip off hopefully we can incorporate into law the current and recent eu rules on free data roaming ,hearing they are eu acts and not laws and may not auto be made into uk law in the carry over ,this stuff needs atention, all the ripping off just forces up inflation ,if we sort it all properly we could maintain the economy and no need to increase interst rates and wages, its not rocket science. |

I have landline broadband without the phone at £22.95 per month for 150mb on a 18 month contract with Virgin. Best thing I ever did cancelling my TV and sports subscription. Watched F1 qualifying today on Cricfree.Watched Riviera tonight on Terrarium TV.

The guys you contact to disconnect - do not disconnect? they are the first step?
only when they realize they cannot turn you back to a Virginite? do they pass you to the department that can disconnect you. Easy to Join. Fkin difficult to escape. |

i did that in the past and they reduce the bill, but over time it climbs back up.
I went without internet for a few years - no biggy. I just think it's a sewer pipe into the house. I'll end up saying something that offends someone. It's too easy to just type the first thing that pops into your head. It's designed to turn us all into critics. |

By:
I'm seriously thinking about giving up the internet all together as it seems everyone online is a closet Hitler supporter
and completely deranged with hatred towards anyone who wasn't born in Blighty.. some sad people on here. |

i think that passports are stupid, if people want to come, let them.
the weather here is terrible. the food is half poisonous. the news is repeated every fifteen minutes along with a weather report? All we have is a good safety net, which now is beginning to fray and grow holes in it. We are heading back into the Victorian era with education costs. they nibble away at everything good. let them come. disillusion will follow. anyone with money goes overseas to a country that charges more tax, like Switzerland and France. When did passports originate? |
