Saw this film last week for the first time since the 80s -- truly great film -- Spielberg's best.

Very clever.

Never see the truck driver's face or find out why he chases Dennis Weaver.

Imagine being lucky enough to see the film at cinema when it first came out.
Report boxingthefox April 18, 2017 8:56 PM BST
I think it was his first>. Jaws on wheels, Shocked. Highly enjoyable.

Marshall Sam McLoud would never have stood for that caper.
Report Ibrahima Sonko April 18, 2017 8:57 PM BST
Superb film, bet it was very good watching it in a cinema.
Report Velasquez April 18, 2017 9:11 PM BST
Was  TV movie first, then more footage was shot for the cinema version.
Report Dr Crippen April 18, 2017 9:17 PM BST
Dennis Weaver played the part of Chester in Gun Law 1955. He'd got a bad limp in that and had to get about on a crutch.

It must have healed up by the time he played the part in Dual 'cause his leg was okay in that.

Duel as well.

Report doridoru April 18, 2017 9:22 PM BST
Yeah used the same style in Jaws, which is even better! of course Jaws 3 and 4 have tainted the original and should be burnt and never shown again.

Anybody else need a red PLYMOUYH VALIANT now, to get from A to B...?

Edd Chynna is leaving...he has left a farewell vid on youtube.
Report Johnny_Mustang April 18, 2017 9:40 PM BST
Won't be the same without him. Always makes me laugh that Mike bangs on about how they turned an £800 or whatever profit but neglects to add that poor old Ed worked a minimum of 300 hours to knock the car into shoe.
Report Velasquez April 18, 2017 9:56 PM BST
YUP - keeps poor Edd in the cupboard under the stairs on slave wages...

I was looking at a pre-owned car recently and to my horror I uttered (in true Mike Brewer-style) "it's a lovely straight motor".

Report Johnny_Mustang April 18, 2017 10:13 PM BST
And actually it wasn't a lovely straight motor either. I traded in my Merc for a Range Rover Evoque and it's a pile of sh1te, I hate it.

Sorry JM but the Evoque is a tarts car. ShockedLaugh

Sadly BTF you're correct on both counts, I don't know what I was thinking buying it. Looking to move it on already. Sigh.
Report boxingthefox April 19, 2017 7:43 AM BST
Morning JM, don't beat yourself up mate, If I could limit my mistakes to my poor/impulse car/other purchases, I'd be a happy chappie. Sad

Report boxingthefox April 20, 2017 6:36 PM BST
The greatest trick U2 pulled off was making silly fans think that buying a CD was a vote for bono heed. Rebel without a seat!.

Report Johnny_Mustang April 20, 2017 7:13 PM BST
Love the Dean Martin model on the Facel Vega site too.

And apropos of nothing, please don't laugh, but I'm strangely drawn to Figaro cars for some inexplicable reason. Would be certain they'd be horrific to drive.

Good retro design...looks like a 1965 Ford Popular upgrade...Grin
Report boxingthefox April 20, 2017 7:27 PM BST
JM, I'm getting seriously worried, another tarts car.........................actually I've always liked them, but would not drive one.  Vanessa Feltz owned one....say no more, nudge, nudge. Wink Wink

Apparently she had the stretch version, ShockedLaugh
Report Johnny_Mustang April 20, 2017 8:01 PM BST
She has stretch everything I'd imagine. I think I read somewhere once that only a few thousand Figaros were made and you had to enter a lottery to buy one. Wish they'd had the same concept for the sh1te Evoque I bought and I'd been unsuccessful.
Report boxingthefox April 20, 2017 8:09 PM BST
Laugh never mind your next motor will be a beauty. Wink
Report Johnny_Mustang April 20, 2017 8:11 PM BST
