Do people still talk of this, and what, in fact, were the parameters that defined them)?

My own parents, and others born in Edwardian times, were always banging on about it (not sure if this was in praise of, or with regrets)!

I don't recall anyone from my era, or in fact many years earlier, using the term!

I mean, can you imagine any '50s rockers, or beyond, talking of such a phenomena?

So the question has to be "when did the olden days end"?

I think that's the general way it's said today AP, not heard the olden days, for years. Could not put a timescale on it though. You could very well be right with the 50s.
