Was served a poor imitation of this classic cut recently. Barely half an inch thick, a pale imposter to the meaty leviathan I remember from my youth.

You just need a decent butcher!!, and you need a chop from a hogget, or even mutton, and ask him to cut it thick.

Apparently the original was indeed mutton and weighed in at around 32oz.
