Agree, mo, it's awful. They get away with it though as most of their customers drink coffee flavoured milk laced with sugar so can't tell good from bad. They had bad publicity over the tax issue which may have had a reaction from customers.

Never had a starbucks and never will, they dont pay tax and said they would hire 10000 refugees rather than hiring anyone or veterans. Love it when a company shows its true colours.

I dont drink Starbucks coffe because it is probably the worst. I did like Cafe Nero but have stopped using them as they don't pay their due in tax either. I try and use independent coffee retailers if I can.
I think the pound is going to make a comeback over the next year. Europe could destabilise and Chump wants a lower dollar.

I dont buy from amazon either, tax dodgers who really care about its employees. Would never use uber too, they take advantage of people who only exist to work.

I don't buy stuff from Israel because of what they do. Thank God Spain is no longer ruled by the Facists and Apartheid has ended in SA or where would I get my oranges from!

Are you sure about that?
You'd be hard pushed to avoid buying from Israel in this day and age. In addition to mobile phones, computer processors are developed and/or manufactured in Israel.
Ditto operating software and software supporting social media and video sharing websites.
Also, Teva is the largest generic drugs manufacturer in the world.

The rise of coffee shops is extraordinary. A sign of wealth. Drive to town. Go to a shop with a sofa, pay 10+ times the cost of 'home coff' and read the paper. Why?

You could make the same argument about people who go to restaurants and wine bars, buy expensive cars when they could travel by bus, stay in hotels or sleep with prostitutes, to name but a few of the things which could be done more cheaply. All part of life's rich tapestry.
