So if the intelligence agencies tag everyone on their list, what do they see?

One of the thousands was in place X and is travelling to place Y at car speed. Do they organise a squad to go out and stop everyone on the list travelling at car speed?

I am sure Guinness will be in better and more reasonable form if Everton beat Leicester 3-0 tomorrow and he lands his usual bet!

They will have to take up much more serious measures against cult members.  There is only one group it will come from.

Just watching ITV news and the reporting is so poor. They report a lorry driving into shop, i think their was a little bit in between. Then they say the motives are unclear.

Inspector; it's about psyche as well, no phucker wants to be tagged or in an internment camp, so as no one has tried anything like that, why not? No one else has any ideas on ere, and there must be ways enforcing a 'no fly' zone for these twots who are KNOWN Just for any ulster fries listening in who don't understand my reasoning and more importantly, point!
There has to be a way of at least trying to control them instead of just letting them walk around willy nilly..

I put a fred up last week about a Belgian who is still a member of DAESH and actually walks around Belgium just like that and claims his benefits for doing just that.. How many walk around the UK like him? Are you all happy with that?

And finally inspector; what do you mean about reasonable? Are you not getting me mixed up with the loon i was trying to edumacate? Has anyone besides me actually read what that nincompoop was saying to me, or as usual it's just my fault for tearing a strip off him after what he accused me of? ye think i'm gonna take that from said nincompoop? It was like trying to discuss the Big Bang with Jimmy Cricket... Anyone on ere who accuses me of being an anti-Semite and racist in the same sentence will get short shrift from me.. And if you don't like that then don't say it to me, or condone it with sly digs...

If there are foriegn supporters of IS etc walking around just deport them would be my suggestion

Tagging seems very ineffectual . As i said earlier they do monitor the ones that are seen as high risk with known connections to dangerous people or past history of being involved . I expect they do a lot more than tag them ; probably bug their phones, cars etc

Then beyond those high risk ones there could be thousands of people who converted in prison, were seen at demos or whatever but have no known links to anything big , no convictions for terrorism , so no legal reason for taking any action. The purpose of tagging people is to ensure they don't breach restrictions placed by a court , such as a curfew.

It just is not practical to monitor maybe 10,000 people who are mostly just harmless nobodies , if you wanted to do that you'd need to take agents off the surveillance of the guys who are actually communicating with people in Syria etc

Which is why i say tag them. To watch someone constantly for 2 years and then take your finger off the pulse to allow them to commit murder is nothing short of criminal. If you think tagging is ineffectual then like you say deport them, set up internment camps for ones coming in who haven't been vetted properly and when some are released from prison or just decide to come back cos their homesick...

The Westminster guy appeared to be a nobody .There will be thousands with a similar profile , most of whom will never do anything.

The problem with tagging is it only tells where they are going , it gives zero indication of what they are up to .

They tag the guy and find he went to a car hire place .That doesn't tell them he hired an SUV .It doesn't tell us he hired a car at all. Unless they follow up in person and check what he did there . And of course they would have to check every time any one of these thousands went somewhere they could possibly have obtained something useful to an attack.

.Vast resources would be needed to keep track of them only to find out they went to Asda or whatever , having no knowledge of what they were buying  . And any time one of them decides to actually go somewhere and kill people the guys monitoring the tags will hear about it on the news like the rest of us.

Curfews or Internment of people you just have some suspicions of is something a tinpot dictatorship state would do imo

Though i do agree anyone coming here from abroad claiming asylum that we know fk all about should be happy to stay in a camp for a few weeks to be checked out and deported if they are found to be in sympathy with terrorist groups.

From what i have read about it there are a few hundred UK citizens/residents who have known links to dangerous people , and MI5 and the Police devote all they can to tracking them .Maybe this is why they there has not for 10 years or more been a Bataclan type 'professional' terrorist atrocity here , because the security services are on top of the people who would be capable of that sort of thing.

But 'amateurs',  who don't have bomb making skills or access to kalashnikovs ,  precisely because they are so limited , will not be connected to any networks and so are always likely to go under the radar.

I sent a tweet to Sir Donald when he tried to stop 6 countries from parking in America. Might be worth a try here...

It was on the lines of swearing allegiance to the country you are entering to live. Then if you are caught liasoning with anyone with known terrorist links or guilty yourself of spreading propaganda in mosques et al, and or convicted of the usual offences regarding terrorist activity, then on the next boat or plane you go.. This would be running alongside other 'conditions' like learning the language integration etc.

That of course wouldn't apply to ones  with full residential status already. It would be a start...

Except of course the KNOWN ones. They should be made to swear the same allegiance...

The prime suspect in this latest appalling terror case in Sweden is not only KNOWN to Inspector Wallander, but for good measure is described as an 'failed asylum seeker' and was "wanted for deportation" at the time of the outrage.

It seems superfluous to mention it but police also state the individual expressed 'sympathy for extremist organisations such as ISIS".

Why on earth would Sweden want to give houseroom to people of this ilk? What have they gained from this experiment?

Still, I'm sure that this fine gentlemen will be given a gold-plated legal defence and the maximum possible scrutiny of the Human Rights Industry, all courtesy of the Swedish taxpayer.

Meanwhile there has been another arrest in this 'lone wolf' attack and police say there are around 5 others of interest being held in custody.

This is part of the problem
from the guardian after these recent attacks

You do wonder whose side they are on

Such a cluster seizes attention but does not automatically indicate increased risk overall. Much about the attacks remains hazy, even where arrests have been made or perpetrators identified. Islamic State has claimed that one of its groups carried out the bombings in Egypt. In the other cases, Islamist militancy is suspected or known.

Then there is the broader policy context. The British prime minister, Theresa May, wisely resisted kneejerk announcements following the Westminster attack. But a revised and expanded version of the controversial Prevent strategy to identify and tackle radicalism awaits. As London mayor Sadiq Khan and others have pointed out, it has a toxic reputation within Muslim communities and needs to be fundamentally overhauled, not just rebranded.

They even drag in the white supremisist  killer in canada

What it refuses to do is point to where this is coming from and why.

I am aghast at the gruniad.  It attacks anything not on its agenda, but when it comes to islam it appears to downplay/pour cold water on  where the origins and philosophy comes from.  Anything to pander to one particular group. It seems to imply that it has nothing to do with islam and panders to the lone wolf syndrome.

Oh dear. The sound of stable doors being bolted long after the horse bolted.

And just like that. the Great Experiment that NO-ONE in Sweden asked for has ended. So, is 'mass immigration' a bad thing then Mr Swedish Prime Minister?

No Swedish Parliamentary debate, no national discussion, no economic analysis, no nothing. Just like that, the insane experiment is terminated.

That tells you just how idiotic the experiment was in the first place. It can be swept away under the carpet without so much as a second thought. All that's left is the terror and carnage to come.

But hang on a minute….

Why aren't the 'progressive' and 'enlightened' supporters of Multicultural Sweden and The New Country of Sweden up in arms about this?

Why aren't the European/American Liberals demanding the sacking of the Swedish PM?

After all, when Donald Trump floated a perfectly sensible policy of reducing immigration, particularly from certain countries, he was routinely described as 'racist', 'fascist' and all the other absurd liberal insults.

Surely the Cultural Enrichment of Sweden/Europe wasn't a grotesque act of self-destruction after all?

Surely it wasn't an insane vanity project to make self-imagined 'liberal progressives' feel virtuous about themselves?

alun - or the rest of Europe!

This is an incredible statement from Lofven. No surprise the media here don't want to carry the story.

The BBC would rather continue to blame the truck not the real cause.

'Sweden's prime minister has told the families of the victims of Friday's truck attack they are not alone'.

Ninnyhammers crápping themselves in case migrants get a bruise. If they are genuine asylum seekers then they have nothing to worry about. At least Viktor Orbán recognises the problems..

During the 2nd World War 'suspected' traitors were sent to internment camps on the Isle of Man. Now some liberallists may say that's far too harsh these days (the Isle of Man bit especially) but internment should be an option..

It's nothing new. Sweden already closed its borders in 2015 to drastically reduce the number of new arrivals. Selected British tabloids might be picking it up as something new, the sudden termination of an experiment now, but Löfven only vowed to extend what's been government policy since November 2015 or so.

Contrary to popular rumour among certain circles, the entire EU, including Germany and Sweden, does not want a repeat of 2015. They're making deals with Turkey, building up Frontex, keeping up border controls at certain borders, paying Belarus to maintain internment camps (mainly meant for people from Chechnya), and touring northern africa for other deals e.g to make it easier to send unaccompanied minors back.
