the idea that the US was going to pull up the drawbridge and let the world fend for itself was always a delusion.

The trouble is where does it stop/start you cant let Russia take one country after another
as with Hitler or do you show you will stand up to bullies Obama did'nt work, will this? maybe not
but may make Putin now rethink his intent in Ukraine etc.

people like farron and the libtards make me weep, suddenly we cant stand back and do nothing, farrons made a career out of voting against the iraq war, russia wont back a un resolution so what do you do
theres 70 people killed in this chemical attack ,syria ,russia will say collateral damage of war, saddam because he had nothing better to do on a sunday afternoon killed 100,s of thousands of innocent people in felluga, bush and blair did what farron and the libtards now want manufactured if you like a way of taking saddam down, and now the likes of farron and the libtards want blair and bush jailed for war crimes, their hypocrisy makes me vomit
sky and the beeb spend 6 hrs last night goading trump into taking action, now he has this morning their crucifying trump for going against what he said in the election,
reminds me of colonel jessop [ jack nicholson ] in a few good men screaming at  men screaming at tom cruise you despise the cover i give you so you can sleep at night,or words to that effect,

They do a good job of killing each other over there whether the west intervenes or not. Learn from past failures and leave em to it imo.

Fire  57 missiles and you will always  have collateral damage.

Airbase today, somewhere else tomorrow. Where do you stop ?
And of course the subsequent retaliation isn't likely to be tit for tat is it ?

Assad crossed the red line, Obama did nothing.
Assad does it again so what do you do? Let him realise that he can do it with impunity?

Not dangerous for anybody but those at the airbase, nobody is threatening nuclear strikes.
More emotive BS

It seems that nothing we see on TV is provable any more foinaven, at least not in the short term. How they have managed to manipulate the news to such an extent that it is becoming meaningless is quite astonishing.

A return to republican unilateralism from a president who's domestic administration is in chaos.
It's all so predictable.

firing all stiff tom cruise missiles... penetration imminent .
took three minutes from start to finish.

Russia says that a stockpile of chemicals was hit on the ground by a bomb - nice excuse.

At least North Korea will be off the hook unless they go full hog crazy and attack them at the same time?

How can anyone be sure?
That erratic trump says one thing then hours later does another.
Watches a tv clip and then starts the missiles, based on what, domestic intelligence, the ones is fighting too and doesn't trust?

N.Korea is the real concern, what's he gunna do play proxy template and get South Korea wiped off the planet?
Or turn up with their own troops and get humiliated again and sent home packing.
He's about to get Japan sunk that yank fool.

Do you have a legal obligation to worry about Japan and Korea? Or is it just moral?

This is about the use of chemical weapons not concern for the people of Syria.  No action was taken last time, no action this time emboldens not only Assad but every other regime.

America fears the use of such weapons against its own cities so a line has to drawn.  Doing nothing is always an attractive option but sometimes a statement has to be made.  Attacking only the airbase does this.

Trump?

Trump's not going in. This is a sign the old guard is back in charge. The old cold war anti-Russia hawks. We can only hope the neocons are not also restored to power.

Trump clearly serving the same war machinery that other presidents have served. Like Terry, I also thought maybe Trump was serious when he said america first, he's not interested in policing the world(by serious i only mean trump standard serious). He is also on record saying IS was created by the americans and that fighting them now is useless. But hey, you can't be an american president and not bomb a foreign country.

America fears the use of such weapons against its own cities so a line has to drawn
America drawing the line is only gonna worsen the matters, because we all know drawing the line means another invasion. How exactly can Syrian chemical weapons be used against american cities baffles me. Have the got the ability to hit America? Because last i checked america dont have the capability the other way round.

I've seen a few reports that a Syrian bomb hit a rebel building containing chemical weapons, we may never know the truth. Escalating on the back of this unproven incident seems foolish, yet most were urging Trumpy to act yesterday Crazy

I should imagine a lot of things baffle you.

Just to put your mind at rest.

Syria is not going to attack the USA.
The USA is not going to invade Syria.
Trump is putting the USA first.
