Eric Stewart once said that Graham Gouldman wouldnt rest until he had squeezed every last penny possible out of the group's greatest hits.Judging by tonights gig in Glasgow that could be some time away as they sold around 1500 tickets ! It was of course a run through of the hits, the first of which was way back in 1972 finishing with the big crowd pleaser 'Rubber Bullets' I was reminded of Stewart's words at the end when GG said the band would sign anything provided it was purchased from the merchandise stall, Wall St would be proud of him.
Can't remember the exxact year, 2004 maybe? I was at the sold old Bryan Adams gig at the SECC (Glasgow) Hall 4 (the big one) Hall & Oates were playing next door at the Armadillo - also sold out.
Would liked to have seen them but I was at the right gig. Never seen itas busy in there ... and I've attended a few gigs in Hall 4. Maiden, Dylan, Purple, Pink

I loved 10cc in the 70's band was lucky enough to see them live. I wouldn't bother seeing them now with just Graeme left, although some of the members have been with the band several yeras,

Here's a brilliant film of 10cc live in '74,showing what accomplished musicians they were.

Indeed, not many people realise he was responsible for classics such as
'For Your Love' - The Yardbirds 'No Milk Today' - Herman's Hermits 'Bus Stop' - The Hollies
He must have been fairly wealthy, long before 10cc

Very good thank you. I remember when 10cc recorded Neanderthal Man under the name of Hotlegs. Similarly Simon Dupree recorded We are the Moles under the name of The Moles. Everyone thought the Moles were The Beatles until Syd Barrett spilled the Beans. We are the Moles and Neanderthal Man were rather good pop records imho.

I was a massive fan of 10cc in their various guises back in the day and still enjoy listening to their first 6 or 7 albums, along with Godley & Creme's stuff.
They're playing The Barbican in York tonight and I quite fancied going along but tickets are almost £40 when the booking fee is added, which for what is virtually a tribute band is way over the odds imo.

I think Godley and Creme left before a few of their hits and i believe they have 3 members of that band still with them - not 100% sure .
remember G and C left of their own accord - they werent pushed out

I only recently discovered that as well as Neanderthal Man,Hotlegs recorded a whole album. I've been playing it on Spotify. There's some good stuff on there. It's worth listening to if you like early 10cc.
