I look at some people and think they are just evil, cruel, rotten to the core and beyond redemption. I guess as a Christian you believe nobody is beyond redemption, even murderers etc?

Tough question.

Might be good to invite the Lord into your life?  I have but i'm not much use at it.

It's a thang with a daily reading. It's very good.  IMO.

Some of it reads like bollocks but it always has a good message.

My mate sometimes shows me the daily passages he considers to be very good or particularly relevant.

Ha, a friend of mine pulled me up for that!

Why?

I'm relaxing & reading the Word.

What's wrong?

I couldn't tell you why exactly, it just strikes me as disrespectful for a Christian to plan their religious contemplations to coincide with taking a crap. Just saying.

Apart from that you shouldn't read on the toilet anyway, it's a very bad habit.

Understanding the Word and living it throughout the day.

I understand where you're coming from.

Thing about Jesus, is that He's "there" - whereever we may be.

I don't understand this Mo thang.  Born in 600AD or summat?

Jesus taught to be aware of "others coming in My name".

Surely you have read my posts on zorro's threads?
I think Jesus the man may have existed, Jesus the god, no.

me and you could sit and look at a picture of the desert and I could say: 'well, look at that, the earth is clearly flat' and you would say 'no its not, its just cause we're only looking at a small part of it that it looks flat - look at the curve on the horizon, that should tell you the earth is round'. I could counter that with 'no thats just the curvature of the lens that's causing that' and with only this picture of the desert to go off, there is no way to prove who is right. its just different interpretations of the picture based on our considered opinions. Of course this is all complete rubbish because its only possible for me to hold this position until I look at a picture of the whole earth, at which point I can clearly see that the earth is round.
in a similar way, people like foinavon look at parts of the bible and parts of the evidence for its authenticity and come out with much considered and well thought out opinions. However the truth is that they're no more considered than my view of the flat earth. you can only continue to hold that position until you consider the whole gospel and all the evidence of its truth. then foinavon's position just becomes completely untenable.

bear in mind that 1 Corinthians 1: 21-25 (in plain english) says this:
for since, by his design, the world did not come to know him through their own efforts, it pleased him greatly to save those who believe through the folly of what we preach. for whilst some demand miraculous signs and some demand perfect explanations, we preach christ crucified, the stumbling block of the religious and the folly of the unbelievers. but to those who are called from all walks of life, christ the divine, the power and wisdom of the father.

so why on earth would you think that anyone would arrive at the truth by virtue of their own considered thoughts? indeed, CS Lewis wrote that atheists contradict themselves in this regard. if the universe is not intelligently designed and our minds came to be merely by co-incidence, how can it be that anything we fathom in our minds could pass as truth? its like spilling a pint on the floor and expecting it to fall into the shape of a map of London in order to find your way home. And yet they consider the product of their own thoughts to be infallible truth Happy

Hello fkqmz, still proselytising?

As Hitchens said, extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. It's your task to prove the Jesus God hypothesis, not mine or anyone else's to disprove it.

wrong - not all are saved.
Jesus taught in parables to make it difficult to discern.
parables are deliberately concealing God's knowledge from people
who only look at the surface meanings.
Jesus did not come to give proof of God.
He came to sow seed. the christian must first ask for the helper.
The Holy Spirit, the comforter. To come into their lives.
He germinates the seed and makes it possible to see the truth of
the bible. Repent to Christ, Accept him as your Lord. Like the
thief on the cross next to Jesus. Nothing else is needed to reach heaven.
God reaches out and makes an introduction, most ignore him focusing on this world
and it's distractions.

Gamatria - getting meanings from numbers is problematic. Apart from basic meanings
from the Hebrew Numbers and alphabet it's just going to play into your expectations.
there are various versions which are based on three languages, Greek,Latin and Hebrew?
I'd immediately discount the latin, as the bible was never in Latin in it's original form.

666 - 6 means Man - The beast system is being described. Man's shortfall. Lacking the perfection of God's governance - we make systems to govern ourselves. Politics(including finance), Religion, Law. Each six is a system of governance.
It's not a tattoo on some nut's head.

Hitchens is brown bread. There is proof if you accept MATHS. If you don't accept maths and accept bogus science you are the libtard? Like the scientist's that give us drugs that damage kids in the womb, Not all science can be trusted. It is more and more under the control of Billionaires and Corporations. Pasteur and Dr Ehrlich worked for themselves and came up with a lot of discoveries on their own. Nowadays the ranks of science has swelled but it seems to be less potent? research is dictated by profits and cures are not wanted, only management drugs for maximum profits. If you trust what the scientist from Coca Cola says about Coca Cola, you are a libtard. Vested interests.

You are seen as the customer by the corporations and as a soldier to be recruited into Satan's Kindgom which will soon be free to do what it wants. The Holy spirit is soon to withdraw and let Satan do what he wants on earth. Like Germany during WW2 but without any resistance of note. Satan will offer the world and everything in it. He will offer Hybrid technologies to make man STRONGER. He's tried this at the time of Noah and the world needed to be flooded to rid the world of hybrids. The Arch Angel Satan will be free to use all his power for a short time. An angel is a brutal warrior, a messenger. Not a fluffy christmas card mascot. Those that OPPOSE christ are little anti christs recruited into the beast system. The last empire.
