Apologies if its use came across as pretentious, I honestly thought POTUS was just as prevalent as President of the United States.

POTUS, FLOTUS and SCOTUS all seem commonplace to me.

Whilst considering Kanye West just a tad unlikely, I wouldn't rule out a few other prominent celebrities as having a real shot at the presidency in the future.  There is a lot of chatter in America right now about Mark Zuckerberg.
