Since I can't reply to either of the other Superbowl topics ....

I had a brief glimpse at the BBC coverage and was horrified at some of the presenters & guests. I quickly switched back to Sky. I watched up until the first score last night, recorded the rest and watched it back this morning. That was the most unbelievable comeback I have ever witnessed. So totally one sided and then switching totally around. I had a chunk on the Patriots, had totally written it off & watched in complete disbelief as they pulled it out of the fire.

I think it's a good sport to watch. Up until the last few games they have the red zone program on, which shows all the scoring chances & action continually switching from game to game at the same time and on a separate channel to the live game. The QB's are extraordinary and mostly throw the ball with unbelievable accuracy and under pressure. The running backs are exceptional athletes, the wide receivers often make incredible catches.

The game has a great statistical base, with dozens of website providing masses of stats. This increases the attractiveness of the sport for many as a betting sport. The betting value available on the handicaps is as good as in any sport. They offer 10/11 each of two with a push for a draw, where you get your money back on a push. e.g You bet a team with a -3 handicap, they win by 3 and you get your stake returned.

i dont think the falcons quarterback threw it well under pressure

it was mor or less a re run of liverpool winning champions league
from 3-0 down at half time

pressure does amazing things to multi millionaire sportsmen

as for betting odds you get better on the exchange !

After commission there is little in it. Also, you don't get the push on an exchange, as they don't set handicaps that result in a push.

worst the milan collapse if you ask me. effectively they were 3-0 up with 20 mins left and unlike football you can chew up huge chunks of time by running the ball when on offence

horrific play calling when they opted to pass on that 3rd and 1 and ryan fumbled it. another possession in the 4th quarter when they were pretty much in field goal range and a couple of penalties forced them to punt

the sack on 2nd down when they where on the 23 yard line was as bad a play call as i have ever seen, you're in field goal range (it's almost a chip shot ffs), you run the ball, you run the clock down, they didn't even need to get yards.

that then led to a 3rd and long and next play they get done for holding and end up outside field goal range, it all stemmed from that stupid play call on 2nd down and whoever called it has lost Atlanta the Superbowl

Edelman's catch in the touchdown drive to get them level was unreal, a bit like David Tyree's catch for the Giants when they beat the Pats

It was extraordinary and enjoyable to watch. Its more much multi-layered than soccer. Brady was Gerrard vs AC Milan.

I had given up on my bet on the Patriots, so I should be happy that I won a few quid, when I thought I had lost. However, I don't think it was a great spectacle. I watched more than 3/4 of the game and all I can remember seeing was missed catch followed by bad throw followed by more missed catches, players who didn't seem to be fit enough or to know what they were doing. For pundits to call this the greatest superbowl of all time is ridiculous. Either that or previous superbowls have been equally bad or worse, which is hard to believe. I watched back the bit that I had missed and I still can't see how or why The patriots won. They didn't seem to play much better than they had in the 1st 3/4 and seem to get the benefit of the doubt on decisions that looked pretty arbitrary, to say the least. I also get the impression that this sport does not have a clearly enough-defined set of rules, and officials, as well as players and pundits are, to some extent, making it up as they go along. I'm willing to admit that I don't know enough about the game to really citicise, these are just my impressions. And it's great that millions of people enjoy it, but I don't think that I will be watching or betting on it again any time soon.
