Quite shocking for one of the biggest websites in the world to take this step.
Apparently they want you to use IMDB Facebook, Twitter etc.

A bit like the occasional agenda on here, of Betfair closing down the Forum, but that would be miniscule compared to this.

Nowhere on the internet can you view, chat, query matters on every film, that was ever made, with like-minded people,
be it a Silent film, a Japanese film from the Sixties or even 'Dead Man's Shoes'

Very surprised.

Yeah, it's origins go back to the year of 1990 (!). Reading around, it seems people are saying it's going to be the end of their oldest active account.
It was definitely one of the first websites, I registered at.

They're blaming trolls. However you only really get those on the latest blockbusters boards
and they've been ever-present for nearly 20 years

Arrival went into my top 10 ,superb Movie.

It's all subjective tho, my daughter loved La La Land, I know I'd hate it.

Guess they want real people rating things, Betfair tried the same when they went forums 2.0. Only time will tell if something else takes over.

All large companies are intertwined and they want you to think the same, much easier to police your views and control the human input.

Global companies are taking over the world, every big company wants you sign up to an another big company.

I had a little time on facebook about 10 years ago but when i realised it was all about knowing what you are doing i got rid.

Media companies are interested in your commercial value. Facebook, snapchat, instagram, twitter, Google, Youtube, BBC, Apple, Amazon, ebay, bing, subway, mcdonalds, kfc, & microsoft. its all interwoven and for control of the rich and powerful to make you a lemming, we peasants are just slaves. Any little company that challenges these gets eaten up.

Its all very sad imo

why moderate your own forum when twitter will allow same access
and no risk of libel for not removing hate ridden bile from silly trolls

drive the trolls on to facebook and let them get caught
