You need a certificate from an optician, have you had an eye test?, if you have just quote the numbers 2.4 was just an example number you might be 2.1..

they check the eyes for Glaucoma, the nerves at back of eyes for good blood supply, They take photos now of these nerves. Macro degeneration checked?.
the numbers on the card they give you is the diopters numbers. I'm shortsighted. Negative numbers. I can order specs using these numbers - swim goggles from HongKong etc.

they usually just give you a abbreviated card to leave with, but if you need specialist info for jobs like a driver, or jet pilot? they'd supply the in depth info?

a left eye twitch might be an alkaline diet issue. spots in iris can point to other diseases. yellowing whites - jaundice.

lots of stuff to consider in a simple eye test.

thanks for the info if you could give me the info you supplied the optitians with perhaps they would supply me  with ordinary distance glasses to find out what they could do .i could go into more later.

the opticians have all your info when they test you? free test usually.

It might be simpler all round if you just get yourself a Labrador and a white stick!
