Over 4 hours of this from RDH, but surely the most 'interesting' part is from 3.32 onwards and all the 'VIPs' who turned up and how quickly they got there, and what they were there for!

If you require a possible scenario for Madeleine`s body to have been disposed of quickly, easily and permanently I suggest you read itcanbedones post at 23:31 last night. As for your other questions No DNA ? Whose DNA do you seek? If it is Madeleines and there is none , then that in itself is suspicious and might suggest a cleanup before the authorities were called. If you seek the DNA of an abductor and there is none, then perhaps there was no abductor. No evidence of an accident? One dog indicated blood behind the couch. No evidence of a body? The second dog indicated a body had been stored in the cupboard. No witnesses? One witness identified Gerry McCann as the man he saw carrying what he thought was a sleeping child on the night in question at approximately 10 pm about 500m from the appartment. |

The deployment of two civil servants to Portugal just 48 hours after Madeleine went missing is nothing short of staggering.
The McCann's connection to the Establishment is very sinister. |

It took them 3 weeks to release the latest photo of Madeleine (taken on the holiday).
I think before that they released an earlier photo of her. That makes no sense at all. The police would have asked for copies of the most recent photo to be circulated first thing the next morning. |

I don`t buy into the idea of a large scale conspiracy at all. The truth is usually far simpler in these cases.

I don't buy the large scale conspiracy either.
The letter by the ex British Ambassador in one of the links provided by George B above, sums up nicely the reasons behind the political focus and the possible consequences of that. I believe that New Labour’s No.10 saw, in typical Blair fashion, a highly photogenic tragedy which there might be popularity in appearing to work on. And I believe there is a genuine danger that the high profile support from the top of the British government might have put some psychological pressure on the Portuguese investigators and prosecuting officers in their determinations. |

No DNA ?
Whose DNA do you seek? I would personally be looking for a DNA match in the tiny speck of blood that was discovered subsequent to the sniffer dogs reaction in the apartment. As I recall it provided something like a 3/10 match when a 9/10 match is required for positive identification.. ultimately inconclusive, possibly down to the quantity of the sample found. |

I think this is a perfect example of the ultimately unhelpful speculative supposition on top of speculative supposition that surrounds and clouds this this case. Any number of reasons could explain the sequence of events detailed IF they took place as described. And that is the prism through which I view all the alleged perpetuated 'facts' that surround this case, all of which multiply as time goes by. |

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/1552519/Parents-release-last-known-photo-of-Madeleine.html By Richard Edwards and Fiona Govan in Praia da Luz 12:01AM BST 24 May 2007 'The family of missing Madeleine McCann today released the last known photograph of their daughter before her abduction in the Algarve three weeks ago.' Their daughter is missing. Local knowledge vital. Locals would have seen MM out and about with the family. They're on holiday so the camer is snapping away. They have a photo allegedly taken the day she went missing. They DON'T release that photo for 3 weeks. If that was my daughter I would have made 500 copies and been handing them out at first light next day, given them to border control staff, media, pinning them to walls, lamp posts etc. Why didn't they??? |
By:
You'd do that for a missing cat/dog

An interesting passage from wiki on the Soham murders......
`Carr was also interviewed by the press after her return from Grimsby during the first week of the search for the girls. She showed a reporter a thank-you card given to her by Wells on the last day of the school year. Carr said `She was lovely, really lovely` and urged the missing girls to `just come home`. The police immediately noticed that Carr was referring to Wells in the past tense...although she had not been reported dead and police were still treating their disappearance as a missing persons case...` |

Any number of possible reasons.....they felt the one they had originally used captured a better likeness, perhaps they went originally with one they had more conveniently to hand, compatible with available printer (i think this is the reason actually if I recall) etc etc etc..who knows??. And as regards them snapping away on Holiday...again a supposition which isn't actually true (apparently)...they had ALLEGEDEY taken only 5 photos of her on holiday. |
By:

By the same token some people would say that was evidence of your own guilt. Only it's not evidence, it's not even a theory. Ask 100 different people what they'd do and you'd get 100 different answers |
By:
I am sure that I read somewhere that there were no photos taken of her on that holiday.
The photo which was released was brought over from the UK by a family friend To me, it seems very strange that there was no photo of her taken on the holiday - most parents would be snapping away continuously Maybe she died earlier at the beginning of the holiday?? hence no photos Or maybe she was never there at all?? Only the McCanns know the truth. |
By:
and that's even before you are in that situation where the practical realities of the situation would dictate otherwise
By:
Why release a fake photo? To incriminate yourself in a Cops Criminals and Clangers episode as an expert proves it's fake?
On that photo I read this "Further analysis of the photo has resulted in people emailing TRUTH For Madeleine and in particular, it was brought to our attention that there is a strange black line behind Amelie. Is this a remnant left behind after cutting and pasting from another image or is it simply a feature of the swimming pool edge? If so, why is the black line nowhere else to be seen?" The explanation is that is actually the shadow from Gerry's elbow which is why the back line is nowhere else to be seen. |
By:
Releasing a fake, time-stamped picture only makes sense if you're trying to deceive about the timeline.
By:
"If that was my daughter I would have made 500 copies and been handing them out at first light next day"
Funnily enough, I've seen a fair few programs on ID and the Crime Channel and when someone offers to help doing exactly that it raises a red flag. |
By:
Someone who is not a family member perhaps.
By:
Lat it doesn't make any sense to issue a fake picture period, unless you were stupid
By:
The photo released THREE weeks after her disappearance was taken by the pool that same day. Ok maybe not trigger happy on the camera but what parent wouldn't release that one the next day?
Kids change month by month at that age. Vital to release THE most recent photo to jog peoples' memories. |
By:
It's not vital. Almost certainly made no difference unless they were the clothes she went missing in.
By:
CB - There are plenty of people out there that believe Madeleine died X number of days before she was reported missing to police (including the bloke who acted as interviewer on the Youtube vid). I'm not sure if the picture is the sole basis for their belief or if there is anything else that corroborates that.
As I said last night, I don't buy that, as it would require more people to corroborate the story. |
By:
and that question has already been answered by someone that clearly knows a bit about the case.

By:
Clyde. Which picture would you release at first light next morning? One prior to the holiday, the most recent one or both?
By:
Lat they were on holiday with several friends. That bloke is clearly an idiot if he truly believes that.
By:
So you think they were trying to avoid jogging peoples memories? That doesn't really tally with other aspects of their behaviour.
By:
Have you read this, CB? If it can be believed, it offers an interesting insight into some of the people the McCanns were hanging around with.

By:
The most recent pic released after 3 weeks was in a public place (a pool).
Other bathers would have seen Madeleine. These bathers are potential witnesses to her disappearance (because they're local). |
By:
Lat - the child minder in Portugal later became the McCann's nanny. Just saying..
By:
What was the weather like on that last day, officially?
By:
'......Ask 100 different people what they'd do and you'd get 100 different answers.....'
Oh I think not |
By:
Not seen the Hall tapes, so can't comment on them.
But from the start of the proceedings the McCanns have behaved in a way that no loving, normal parents would do. Their insistence that an abduction had taken place, immediately after checking room to find MM's disappearance. Why would you assume abduction, when the most likely scenario would be that Maddy had somehow got out of the room and wandered off. Involving media when advised against doing so. There are quite a few things that don't add up. But it doesn't prove McCanns guilt. But on the otherhand, there is no evidence of abduction in the slightest. The McCanns seemed more interested in covering their own asses, than any normal parent who would be out searching for their child till they dropped. |

i've not read all of this thread , so excuse me if its already been covered, but didn't Gerry play tennis the following morning after she went missing ?
