Don't all tomatoes ripen on the vine?

Ok, some may be harvested not fully ripe but will continue to ripen afterwards!

I can't see what the hell leaving them on a wizened up stem of the vine has any future benefits.

Why am I posting this?
Because several times I have bought them, only to find I need to leave them for several days to become edible!

I would personally recommend tree ripened apples with bush ripened blackberries in a crumble with cane ripened sugar.

I hate "vine" tomatoes almost as much as I do those bloody cherry toms.

I am considering growing my own this year as a good salad tomato is a rarity these days.

I have been known to 'mince'  ooooh  errrrr.

My mate calls it 'midfield mincing'  when soccerball teams have no direction and start passing sideways and backwards all the time!!!

When i was in the fruit and veg game i saw  some  boxes of Indian  thompson seedless grapes at Covent Garden.Printed across the boxes was a banner proudly proclaiming "Grown on human sewage".How can anyone resist that .

I always buy Vine tomatoes as the cheaper ones seem to have no taste,

Anything involving human sewage I would steer well clear of.

The advantage of vine-ripened toms is that you can refrigerate them and they still taste of tomatoes.

If you refrigerate ones picked when green (most commercial ones), they lose all taste.
