i did kk thanks and very much enjoyed as per,
but one of the mysteries to me is,if he"s still deemed good enough to do another show why sacked him from this where he is still the master, nobody will do as good a job as brian with sound of the 60s

I get the feeling they are going to offer him some late night spot in the hope he will refuse.

As you say he's a perfect fit for the job.

Moving the time slot to 6-0'Clock, probably because the BBC want to kill it off....reckon it's been on the cards for some time. Otherwise why not keep it 8 till 10.

And now Brian Matthew will do occasional other shows.

And why suddenly replace Brian Matthew after 27 years, it's his show and he didn't want to go. None of it makes much sense !

A great show to go out on. Never missed SOTS with Brian. Tony Blackburn @6.00 am No thank you. I might condescend to listen on I player when I have nothing better to do. Replaced 8.00- 10.00 by Saturday Morning show with the multi talentless Dermot O' Learing. No chance!

Latest news: his condition has improved from 'dead' to 'alive'

BBC wrongly announced he had died at 88, but he is still alive although critically ill. Pretty poor whoever got that wrong. Fake news !

After sacking him from Sounds Of The Sixties, the BBC prematurely announced he had died, and then upgraded his condition from 'dead' to 'alive', shabby treatment indeed for one of their best ever presenters. Like so many on the radio and TV who can be irritating, there was nothing irritating about him. Remember Brian Matthew from 60s TV show Thank Your Lucky Stars, and Janice Nichols "I'll give it five" or as she said it in her Brummie accent "Oi'll give it foive"

Sad to hear Brian has died, one of the best.

RIP
