http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/health/expat-health/11384780/Netherlands-tops-health-care-rankings-with-UK-in-14th-place.html

Netherlands tops health care rankings, with UK in 14th place - UK spend, 8.7 percent of GDP on NHS.

germany - 11.3 percent - netherlands 10.9

So we are behind by twenty five percent of our current budget. a quarter of 8.7, add it on and you get what the Dutch and the Germans are spending.

recap to break something, put more weight on to it. ask the doctors to do more, so they quit. then more pressure goes onto the remaining doctors. eventually it collapses. It falls into private overseas companies and private hands. Profits to be made. Everyone will pay a lot more and it'll go to the fat cats.

Perhaps we should just strip out the large number of non-medical managers who feed off the NHSand take large salaries for posturing and issuing press releases? Spend their money on nurses and doctors on the front line.

In Holland you have to pay Health insurance but it is progressive the poorest pay the least.
Having been in Hospital there I can tell you it is run much better than our N.H.S they are
very thorough in treating whatever ailment you have.

they could up the NHS to ten percent and spend another 1 percent on medical research. making it 11 percent.
maybe make a profit as a pharma company.

GDP is not that relevant.

A better comparison would be tax take.
