Dear marriage supporter,

Dame Louise Casey has labelled church schools supportive of traditional marriage as ‘homophobic’. She even likened them to the extremism exposed by the Trojan Horse scandal in Birmingham.

The Government’s integration tsar told a House of Commons select committee that the issues raised by Trojan Horse were “not okay”.

She then added, “the same way it is not okay for Catholic schools to be homophobic and anti-gay marriage”.

Casey then went on to accuse those opponents of gay marriage of using ‘religious conservatism as a veil for anti-equality views’.

Casey then went on to accuse those opponents of gay marriage of using ‘religious conservatism as a veil for anti-equality views’.

This is one of the clearest indications so far of how the extremism agenda could be hijacked to marginalise those who take a stand for traditional marriage.

Her astonishing remarks come hot on the heels of her recommendation that everyone who holds public office should take an ‘equality oath’.

They also fly in the face of official guidance that teachers and schools do not need to support or endorse same-sex marriage.

It's essential that we speak out when unelected advisers go beyond the law.

Believing that marriage is between one man and one woman doesn't make you homophobic or an extremist. It's Dame Louise Casey's comments which are extreme!

Why do homosexuals want to get married anyway? Marriage is a heterosexual concept, why do the homosexuals have to steal someone else's ideas? And you know this new-fangled trend for showing two blokes kissing on telly? I find that extremely offensive, it proper turns my stomach. And no way should homosexuality be promoted at school under some sort of diversity banner, that's just plain wrong.

Marriage effects everybody.

Marriage is one of the basic building blocks of our society and has always been between a man and a woman in one form or another
since we existed.

I don't discriminate against anyone. But I do not believe that two members of the same sex can marry one another, and never will.

Just my own opinion.

Gays have always existed, always will, but I feel are better in the background, makes it easier for everyone else.

It is complicated enough having men and women fancying one another, for some of us.

Was always going to be problems.
If a minister or priest feels it is against what they believe in then nobody has the right to force them to marry a gay couple.

Ebul has an opinion as we all have.
I think all that he is saying is that whilst it is acceptable in law it's not something he thinks is right.
What's wrong with him having that point of view?
Is a view I share btw.

Laugh

It is only 56 years since homosexuality was legalised in this country.
Some of us older ones were brought up to believe marriage was only between a man and a women
None of the major World Religions even think Homosexuality is right, let alone Gay Marriage...

Perhaps in the future everybody will accept Gay Marriage, perhaps not?
But just because we have changed the law, does not mean everybody's beliefs can just change over night.

I do not personally stop anyone marrying someone of their own sex, but I do not find it natural
and I doubt I ever will.

I doubt think we can peoples deeply held religious beliefs either.

It is if you are a religious believer. My way of dealing is to think of homosexuality as a very small sin, which is forgivable.

But I cannot accept Gay Marriage as Marriage, which is my personal right, other people can make their own decisions.
