And who are we to argue with that?

I got a number 3 bus from Crystal Palace to West Dulwich this afternoon, the lady in front of me had no credit on her Oyster card and I paid her fare for her on my debit card. My good deed for the day,.

Our Bridges over the Forth look magnificent.

Those bridges look beautiful Akabula, must make you feel proud to be Scottish.

Crossing The Forth Bridge is one of my earliest memories.
That's the cantilever bridge in the background which carries the trains across but never ever refer to it as The Forth rail bridge.Laugh
I remember being thrilled at crossing the Forth and seeing some boats way way below but still flinch when I remember throwing some pennies out of the train window which was a tradition.
My father gave me and my sister the pennies and tradition or no tradition I'd rather have bought sweets with it. Cry
Report scandanavian_haven January 11, 2017 9:01 PM GMT
You had a very good dad, akabula, one that did not want you to rot your teeth on sugar, but one that sought to maintain local tradition and history, you must be proud looking back.

God I can feel the love tonight
Report akabula January 11, 2017 9:16 PM GMT
My dad had a decent job (was a director) and a decent car and took us everywhere in the 50s/60s.
Boated on the Thames and went to the London Palladium in 1960. Great memories if somewhat hazy through time.

My Dad akabula used to take me to the Galway and Tralee festivals every year when I was a kid, he was my hero.Love
Report MC Roller January 11, 2017 9:32 PM GMT
He must be a hero because with a name like akabula he must have got a load of grief.
Report akabula January 11, 2017 9:48 PM GMT
Ayr races for us Slippy with an occasional visit to Perth and Musselburgh tracks.
Hence my lifelong love of racing and subsequent nickname of Bula.
For MCR Bula was a Champion Hurdle winner x 2 in the early 70s and AKA = Also known as.
So, sorry but no grief.
