strangely I had heard them on the radio a few days before without knowing and only half listening.

Jimi Goodwin played bass on all Doves albums, Steve Osborne was responsible for production & mixing on Catch The Sun.

Ah ok, I've looked at that link and I'm as baffled as you. Jimi is obviously playing acoustic, Andy Williams on drums and Martin Rebelski on keyboards. Jez Williams is playing rhythm guitar so if I were to hazard a guess, I'd say the bass line is being played on the keyboard or on a tape.

Cheers Dan. I am no expert, but came up with those same two options. I couldn't think how a tape could be 'timed' to coincide with the live music but I am sure there are ways. I am sure you could do bass on a keyboard, but the guy appeared to be playing other stuff when on camera.
