The greatest film ever made (tainted by the terrible Jaws 3 and 4 though which should be burnt and never shown again)

My father took me to see that as a boy and i would say it was my the best ever cinema experience...

I was too young but the best film experience I ever had was in 1981 when it was first shown on Itv, blew me away...

I went to the pictures with my Dad on Boxing Day on the day it was released in the UK. I had already read the book and it was one of those few films where I enjoyed both the book and the film. Interesting documentary on the making of Jaws...

Most scared I've ever been in the cinema, can't remember what year it was but I was still in primary school when one of the neighbours took a bunch of us to see it.
Had nightmares for a few weeks after it.

Brilliant brilliant movie. Brilliant book as well.

Probably 1976 Platini - I'm certain it was Boxing Day '75 I went to see it at the Plaza, Regent St

the beginning when you don't see shark was genius


EXCEPT it wasn't suppose to happen,had hydrolic probs with shark

jaws 3,water skier was taking the p^ss

That's what I got from the making of Jaws. They improvised with the music and it made it a better film

I couldn't watch any other Jaws movies. There was only one for me

Great White sharks have recently appeared off the coast at Martha's Vineyard  where Jaws was filmed .
One fisherman had his leg bitten off .

A guy in court is up for raping men and women for several years. He appeared in court with a nasty cold and the judge said "That's a nasty cough you've got there, ever tried sucking a fisherman's friend?" to which the guys replies "Don't you think I'm in enough trouble already"

Aspro, I checked the UK release date and it says Dec 1975, but I'm pretty sure it was couple of years later when I saw it.
I would only have been 7 years old when it came out so I'm fairly sure

I wouldn't have been taken to a scary movie at that young age.

It was an "A" rating when it first came out. Not sure what that means, I remember some movies were U ratings (universal ? )

From memory U was kids (Disney etc) A was Adult Supervision and X was 18+ There was another I'm sure. I was 13 and went with Dad so deemed ok

I'm guessing Jaws was still doing the rounds at the Odeon, ABC, etc in 1977 or 78. It was so popular they would still be easily selling tickets for it then, esp since it was before people had videos.

The scene with the kid on the airbed is so well made and edited with Brody's reaction on the beach, then the amount of blood and sound effects in a pg?!?!!? you never see kids die in Jurassic Parks etc, Jaws is really one of a kind, the most powerful film I ever saw...

Jaws 2 tonight ITV 1 - the only worthy Jaws sequel.
