whatever you do don't bother with the gym membership thing, you will waste your money signing up to long contracts before the novelty wears off and you stop going.

Resolve not to make resolutions and you'll be well sorted.

Joking aside, the first thing to do is to spend some time thinking about why you fail to do/achieve things that you have previously set out to do/achieve.

Once you understand that, spend some time thinking about what you are going to do about it.

To find a new way of making money and that doesn't necessarily mean getting a job.

Don't know about a resolution, but my plan for 2017 is to set up a business by the end of the year. Blimey Angoose you've been gone a long time. Last time we chatted I think you were off to UAE? hope you're doing well.

To play guitar every day, the same failed resolution as the last 20 years.

A booze free January and February. Did it this year too. A doddle!

Hi Hank, it will be nine years and counting in February since I moved to Dubai, still here although a lot has changed in my life for the better since then.

Anyway, good luck with getting a business up and running.
A good idea to find someone that you trust who can mentor you through the process.

There is nothing wrong with having recurring resolutions, just make sure that you are making progress towards achieving them.

Warren Buffet tells an interesting tale regarding achieving life goals.
He gets you to write down twenty five goals then asks you to prioritize just five of them.

His next piece of advice is to never think about the other twenty ever again, simply focus on the big five and apply a continuous improvement approach to them.

What makes Buffet happy - giving out advice?

After I win the lottery tonight they can stick their good advice.

I'm going to get a fortune the easy way.

Good luck with that Dr.

Mr Buffet, rather traditionally, sticks to the blood, sweat and tears methodology of acquiring a fortune.

I just want my fortune now, I don't care where or when or how. I don't want the dustbin or a cuddly toy, I'm going for the jackpot boy oh boy oh boy.

Booze free jan, feb, maybe even march.  Sub 3:30 marathon in April, sub 11:30 ironman in July, get a buy to let flat, would be nice to get the weight down well under 11 stone, currently nearly 12 stone.

I'm pleased and proud to say, that I'm sticking resolutely with my unbroken resolve, of perhaps twenty years ago, being not to to make New Year Resolutions!
