This is shocking and very sad news.

Lets elaborate. Sparky was here from, I think, 2001, Properly of the old school, that is fifteen years, which is as old school as you get on internet forums.  When people talk about the good old days of chitchat they are probably talking about people like sparky. He was one of the wittiest people on here and one of the most non one-eyed political commentators going. It is a shame that many people who would have remembered him are not on here any more(it being christmas eve obviously doesnt help).  His "downfall of Tommy Toes" video is probably the funniest thing chitchat ever produced.

I am afraid so Study.  Though he was basically English with USA heritage.  If anyone has a link to the downfall of Tommy Toes it would be a fitting tribute.

I met him for a walk down Sussex way earlier this year Kenny.  We watched us lose the T20 world cup final in four painful balls. Happy days still.  Funny guy.

He and I - and my brother, and "surfer rosa" who posts on the footy forum, did a charity walk in 2010; quite a few chitchatters donated to it.

Brilliant poster, rob, no doubt about that. Did tons of charitu stuff too.

Dreadful news. Used to listen to him on university radio when me, TT and robdylan seemed to be the only three people taking part in the quiz! Born in Milwaukee but not a Brewers fan. What's up with that? Loved his Packers though. Always seemed to have his ugly mug surrounded by pretty girls in the pictures he must've photoshopped.

Made me laugh, and one of the names you could guarantee to take your mind off the bad punting days, which is what this place is for really. Sharp and very thoughtful too.

What happened to him Rob ,thought was a very fit guy used to be always on walks etc,,

I am not sure casemoney.  He had had some health issues over the last few years. I only met him once(for a walk earlier this year) there have been hundreds of eulogies on his facebook but no mention of cause of death and I am not about to ask.

I am shocked to hear this.

When i first looked on Chit Chat , Sparkmaster was the first poster that stood out with his threads and posts , and it was clear that he had been at the heart of the CC Forum for many years before that.

He began the amazin fact thread that is the oldest here.

Can't help thinking 46 is probably the average lifespan of an inhabitant of Stoke.

Very sad news. One of the guys I remember on here when I first joined up, always enjoyed his posts and wit. Will be greatly missed.

Can hardly believe this but having had a look on facebook, it does indeed look like he died on Christmas eve morning.

Some of his friends have changed their profile picture to one of Mark or one of them with him. Shows how well respected the guy was.

Very sad to hear, a very genuine chap who would go out of his way to help people.

Saw this thread earlier but didn't go into it thinking it was some kind of joke. Beyond belief. A top man whom I conversed with many times in the old days. His change of username was due to a card problem if I remember correctly. Tommy Toes will be devastated.

Very sad to hear about Sparky. Always thought he was very smart, funny and humane. The memory that makes me smile is a quiz he hosted matching images to forumites' names and a certain porn star that enjoyed the company of animals. I hope Tommy got to meet him in the flesh in the end.

He did boggle, more than once I believe.

Tommy is too tight to pay for a proper internet connection so probably doesn't even know.

With all the celeb deaths of this year this one hits the hardest. I didn't know he was so young and as others said he was around early doors on here. Seemed a very genuine person and helped me out with info on here more than once. Sad news indeed.

Tambourine Man (who can't post anymore as he's in Canada) sent me some "fun" photos of sparky who always seemed to have one or several nice looking chicks around him. Will post some when approved.

Dozens of them on facebook, some videos as well. He wasn't shy that way.

The Four Canal walk was a good money spinner for charity, and the conversation when trying to teach Tommy Toes on here how to use the functions on a mobile phone was hilarious, but nothing will beat 'The Downfall of Tommy Toes' hitler parody video, that was superb.
Does anybody know what the cause of his demise was?  He didn't smoke or do drugs but we know he liked a drink or six and was overweight.

I've been away from the forum for a long time and just returned in the last few days and saw this thread.

Like many others, I always enjoyed reading Sparkmaster's posts, he was a sharp cookie who always expressed his thoughtful opinions in a respectful manner, even when you were talking pish (and lots of us on here do).

Life is a strange journey and on the day that I dipped back in to the form earlier this week, my wife returned from a trip to the shopping mall with the kids.

They had acquired yet more stuff for the kids to mess around with, a plastic tea set for my little girl and an inflatable red horse for her little brother, just what we need, eh.

Anyway, the horse was announced as being called Sparky, I assure you that I am not making that up.
Aint life strange.

I would not have described sparky as a lefty. He was one of a select number of people on here who didnt feel any blind allegiance to a political party or, necessarily even a political movement.  For that reason he was always worth listening to on matters politics... He was in no way one eyed.  He had done lots of walking in the last couple of years and had lost a lot of weight from some of the pics on here.  There were other health issues recently but, rightly or wrongly, I never asked him about the specifics of these.

He does have Jeremy Corbyn as a "likes" on facebook, suggests he was a little bit left of centre, but absolutely nowt wrong with that in my book.

The earlier post describes his as not being one eyed.

Anyway, an all round good bloke who has been taken from his family and friends way too early.

The 'chit chat photo thread' of him shows him at a fancy dress if I remember correctly. His girlfriend at the time was a real stunner dressed up as a squaw.

I'm going back ten years or so but if TGM was here he could back that up. He actually told me a story about her. There was no malice in it but he did say he would never speak to her again for some reason.

I've returned to Chit Chat tonight for the first time since the end of October 2016 and on reading the pub thread saw that Sparky had passed - so I've looked for a thread that confirms it.

I'm devastated.

Sparky was a very special human being and his glorious sense of humour and pure, sparkling humanity was something rarely seen - and which will never be replaced.

May you be forever in eternal peace now my dear, dear old friend.
