The prison system needs to be reformed. For far too long we've been treating inmates like criminals.

This is what you can expect, when lack of funding,creates a prison system run by ' outsourced'  companies. Dumbed down from the rigorous training that once created professional prison staff. Government want to go down the privatisation route, same as the NHS. It doesn't work and the sooner it's realised and action taken to properly resource these institutions  the better.

Starting a thread about prison gives a new meaning to "I agree with nick".

Christmas TV has been very poor over recent years imo.

I've only had a quick look at this year's schedules and 'Jonathan Creek' is the only thing I've spotted that I particularly want to watch (and that's not on until the 28th).

Must be very depressing being in prison this time of year more so than the rest, would imagine the suicide rates shoot up.

God I hope they're not allowed to watch TV at 7.30, if they stumbled across Eastenders that really would tip them over the edge.

Last time I saw Eastenders was only by accident a few Xmas's ago, someone had stolen someone's baby and there was inevitably a lot of screaming, the scriptwriters of that show must be really miserable.

Did anyone have to "leave it out" as someone "wasn't worth it"?
