Derbyshire managed to rub along quite well for centuries without much in the way of Cultural Enrichment that involved Peace-Loving sorts wanting to kill anyone they don't like in the name of a Peaceful Religion.
It may not be the first county that comes to mind when one thinks of this island's story, nor is it maybe the most popular UK travel destination for holidaymakers.
Lest we forget however, Derbyshire is the county that gave us Thomas Cook, synonymous with the Golden Age of the Romance of Travel, and Florence Nightingale still revered almost 200 years after her birth for her profound contribution to Nursing. Derbyshire is also the county in which the Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, the Spinning Frame and the Water Frame were reportedly developed.
Even the most patient researcher would be hard pressed to discover a long and rich history of terrorism in the county of Derbyshire. I am not aware of any towns twinned with, for example, the Gaza Strip.
It maybe came as a surprise then to some when yesterday a number of men were arrested in Derbyshire for alleged terror offences in connection with Islamist Extremism. Police and Army numbers were deployed to raid a property which was described as a 'bomb-making factory' in an intelligence-led operation.
One of the arrested is reported to be an 'asylum seeker', only recently arrived in this country. Visitors to the Irish Sports Forum will be relieved to learn that because this individual is a refugee, seeking asylum, he is therefore apparently "not dangerous". Phew.
Is there ANYONE out there who can enlighten me as to why Derbyshire should now allegedly be the home to bomb-making factories manned by emissaries of ISIS ?
In fairness to ISIS, they did tell us in advance that they would flood Europe with their operatives, via the Pretendy Refugee route, so no-one should be that shocked. Well, apart from some extremely naive and delusional liberal 'progressives'.
ISIS sadly weren't specific as to the locations their men would be heading to. Where next then do you suppose they'll pop up to show us their vibrant enriching presence? Cheddar? Braemar? Skegness? Llandudno?

it isn't the county Alun it is just the city of Derby itself that's the problem. I don't think it is the first time either that the city has produced a peaceful one that was arrested.

Gotta laugh kim, while I was in Saudi we installed satellite dishes on one contract and after friday prayers they would come out animated by the Imam's prejudice and start throwing stones and later shooting at the dishes and my lads would have to go and repair them !
