I believe it's Labour's refusal to see immigration from the eyes of the electorate that has cost them so many votes.
Then along came Brexit to strengthen the perception of Labour wanting one thing and their traditional supporters wanting another. I see no hope for the Labour party. Certainly not until their stance on immigration has been resolved to the satisfaction of ordinary people. And that isn't going to happen with the likes of Khan and Abbott with their feet firmly under the table. I'm afraid the Labour party as the majority once knew it has gone. The supporters they have left just don't realise it yet. |

I think they do Dr, classic denial symptoms is all we see. The immigrationists have such a fixed ideology that they are boxed in and have nothing to discuss, it is death or glory for that lot.

anxious I don't think that cuts much ice with disillusioned Labour voters.
They had nearly two decade of listening to immigration supporting stuff from Labour. And now the excuse that it's Tory policies that have caused all the trouble. That's why they left. |

so most or all of our problems are down to immigration?
i dont think so. there wasnt a problem pre crisis..in fact our economy boomed off the back of immigration. id say it was propped up after the crisis too..especially if you compare how others suffered. a growing population contributes to growth...so id say if we didnt have them we would have been a lot worse off. the problem lies with tory policies. ie..cuts when they should have been building. they could have controlled house prices which would have greatly helped the econony...but chose not to. they could have used stamp duty on higher priced houses to raise money to build. they have caused this problem not immigration. |

Blair could have ensured that the immigration began with a trickle and provided houses, schools, hospitals etc were built as numbers increased. He did not and we got most of the migrants from 6 countries because they could go nowhere else en masse. A huge mistake and no attempt to correct it was ever made. The Tories simply inherited his mess.

I'd say Labour should make way for a party that supports the workers.
Instead of like them supporting immigration. |

labour will benefit once brexit is sorted
it will be the other parties that suffer post brexit as the solution will not suit all. long term its not a bad position, but a short term disaster there are plenty of labour mps prepared for long term struggle, tories fighting over short term gain.....look what has already happened to cameron, osborne, bojo, and gove.....plenty more to follow |

With the eyes of the world on Seoul for what was essentially South Korea’s coming-out party, the opening ceremony got off to an unfortunate start. Releasing a flock of doves into the stadium might have seemed like a good idea on paper, but the reality was actually pretty gruesome: as the cauldron was lit, a host of birds were burned to a crisp in front of the entire planet.

Labour MP Gisela Stuart steps up to blast Diane Abbott over freedom of movement. Doing a great job Di.

By:
isela Stuart, the Labour MP who co-chaired the campaign to leave the EU, has been accused of hypocrisy after she called on politicians “to be humane” and guarantee the rights of 3.5 million European citizens living in the UK.
The politician, who is now chairing an inquiry into the practicalities of protecting the rights of foreign workers, said it was critical that Britain was a “welcoming country” in the wake of the Brexit vote. But her comments led to an angry response from the Liberal Democrat leader, Tim Farron, who said her campaign had focused on reducing migrant numbers. |
