Didn't help me when lost in the Lake District,sent me south when i should have gone west.

yet to see a phone compass that is consistently reliable just a gimmick .

should not be getting lost in the lake district ,just a couple of wee hills and a puddle in a field

every schoolboy knows that the top of a map is north.

Just place the map on the floor - flat, mind - and start walking.

Word of warning ... If you walk too far and go past the north pole, you'll be heading south.
