Controversy continued to stalk Lewis Hamilton on Tuesday, as he mysteriously quit testing on a fleeting return to the track where he lost the Formula One title, and was then called a ‘little ballerina’ by Sir Jackie Stewart.
Hamilton only completed a few laps of a tyre test on the Abu Dhabi circuit before complaining of illness, with junior driver Pascal Wehrlein stepping in.
However, Mercedes had said on Monday night that Wehrlein would be taking over at some stage during the day in any event, before they could have known Hamilton would feel unwell.
