Weather forecast is the inverse of normal. Minus temperatures in wales and the south west, and 9'C in Glasgow!
The deep fat fryers must be on full with the doors open.

Was a bit cold in bed during the night. Checked the duvet today and realised I still had the 4.5tog summer one on.Attached the 9tog to it now, so looking forward to a nice toasty kip tonight.

I've just got back from Newcastle g2d, after breakfast I went to get a newspaper. A bloke walking in front of me was wearing shorts and he was no jogger judging by the size of his belly. I was wearing a ski jacket, it was about minus 2! I do love the Geordies, I'm going back again in January for a few days.

I've never been so fecking cold in November. Not even at Hexham up in the Antarctic hills.
The hound doesn't know it yet but he's sleeping with me. Should be fun in the morning when he gets prodded with a bald-headed yogurt slinger...

BBC weather map I saw 8°c in Scotland and -8°c down in Devon/Somerset
Don't think I've ever seen a 16°c difference between both regions where the north is where it's warmer, it's pretty much always the other way around.

I'm looking at a line of washing in the garden I pegged out on Monday and haven't been able to take down because the pegs have frozen solid to the line. The hedges, plants and lawn covered with a thick layer of white that's been building for 3 days, and freezing fog has just descended.
Welcome to Zummerzet.
Had to pull the dog off the bed to get her out for breakfast and do her business this morning.

as far as the north/south pattern goes , winter time cold runs from East to West , northerly latitudes are rarely much colder than Southern .
Isle of Skye will be milder in Winter than Essex or Kent , likewise the Faroe Islands (62N) will definately be a lot warmer than Sofia (42N).

We are lucky though with the Geographical location.
I wouldn't swap the cold for a place that has Earthquakes, tropical cyclones and the like, and it makes us appreciate the warmth more when it comes and when we go away on holiday.
