Dead Squirrel on road!!    Pull over if safe to do so.   Check if body warm.   If positive, place in available carrier bag and place in boot.  If cold and/or exceptionally flat, move carefully to the edge of the road to allow the usual carrion eating suspects to safely perform their usual duties.

For Rabbits, Pheasants and Partridges, see aboveCool

The story was on page three of The Times today. The 'racegoers' were kicking the pair (male and female) like footballs.  Sadly the female did not survive. The male is still with us but is traumatised.

Chaser - held by the tail, one can carry several squirrels with ease for several milesWink.

nb - by the way and for the avoidance of doubt, I do not condone the abuse of Hedgehogs; Mind you, all those Badger charities have a lot to answer for.

@TheChaser,"seen a dead squirrel on a road today"...Whenever i cycle to the Acorn urban farm in Kirkby,i nearly always see roadkill along the way.Ive recently taken to removing it from the road.It was upsetting for me this sunday because i removed a cat from the road that had been proper splattered. The only thing i could do was place the poor thing at the side of the road and cover it with leaves.Sad

Surprising there's any hedgehogs still to be found thanks to the badger huggers. Same goes for frogs and toads, and for all the songbirds who rely on the same grub as badgers.

Hedgehog spaghetti carbonara (serves four).

500g spaghetti, 30ml olive oil, 250g lean hedgehog, 1 medium onion (chopped), 125ml water, 60ml dry white wine, 4 eggs, 60ml double cream, 100g grated parmesan cheese
• chop hedgehog into small chunks
• beat eggs and cream together in a bowl. Add half the parmesan cheese
• put pasta in boiling water
• put onions and hedgehog chunks in pan with olive oil on medium heat until onions are almost clear
• add wine and reduce heat
• drain pasta when cooked, combine it with egg, cream and cheese mix
• add meat, onions and wine without draining fat and mix thoroughly
• garnish with remaining parmesan
• serve immediately.

Cool

You can buy badger bristle toothbrushes. They don't apppeal to me .. Far too exotic. I'll stick to my Oral B Bonobo Pubes, thank you very much.
