As a past director in an international company, I had no issue with stating a co worker looked ' nice' . But would certainly never refer to them as darling or love or sweetheart. There's nothing wrong in giving someone a compliment in the right way. probably because one of your co workers said you had a nice tie |

When you open a door for someone and they say thankyou, your response then may be "you're welcome"
You should not say "no problem" as this hints at a self satisfaction and arrogance. to say you're welcome however is charming. |

It is nice when a woman calls someone sweetheart, it is nice when women do that. That is a nice way for women to speak to a man or a woman. It is lovely when older women use this term. it is better if men are not nice and don't use these sorts of phrases, then it feels even more nice to hear a woman say it.
