Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned that he will let hundreds of thousands of migrants travel on to Europe if pushed by the EU.

He was reacting to a non-binding vote by the European Parliament to freeze talks on EU membership for Turkey.

"Listen to me: these border gates will be opened if you go any further," he warned the EU on Friday.

It is all part of the plan from the start, Turkey just took the pee out of the stupid EU and got billions for the pleasure.

Merkel was forced into clutching at straws tbf, no one else wants em and Germany can't cope. Hope he hasn't got the 4 billion yet.

Not going to happen any time soon, but all EU-countries should abandon the refugee convention, and tell Turkey to **** off. (Any EU-country that would like some refugees could still invite a number that they would feel comfortable with.)

Absolutely no mention of this on the BBC news (no surprise there!) but they managed to somehow jam in a negative dig at Brexit covering Black Friday sales, and fit in yet more lamenting over Cox.

If there is no chance of Turkey getting in why is Turkey bothered, and if there is a chance. which they clearly think is the case, why did the remainers keep saying Turkey joining the EU was a scare story?

The sooner we get out of the EU the better.

The invasion will only gain strength.
Report Mr.Anderson • November 25, 2016 6:46 PM GMT
There was no chance of Tukey getting in 2-3 years ago, and in the last couple of years the chance has decreased further if possible. Maybe Erdogan just wants to keep up appearances?

But he is a strong leader and knows how to deal with dissent. He even deals with comedians in other countries - what's not to like?
He is a nice family man and 'looks after'  them.  Although the daesh oil may be drying up.

C4 news dont appear to want to mention this as well. Just the usual "Trump and his supporters are basically nazis" sh*t as every single night..

Absolutely no mention of this on the BBC news

have they mentioned the immigrant riots today in Greece, Italy, Belgium and Bulgaria? I'm sure they've utterly condemned it.

Trumpton could learn a few things from Erd-the-goon.
Especially how to deal with journos, protestors and political opponents.

When will ch4 link trumpton's 'nazi' tendencies to Erdie boy??

The eu is making very big moves to censor or even silence alternative views to the great Federal exercise.  You must all obey.

Orwell must be spinning.

Just some sabre rattling from a demagogue. Balkan route is closed and Hungary is ready and willing to build a fence in a hurry along its border to Romania if there is a new wave (which there won't be). Especially the people who liked to disguise themselves as Syrians would consider twice and thrice if they'd pay traffickers thousands of dollars if they'll end up being stuck on Greek islands, thoroughly checked out and sent back.

The EU knows that, which is why they're now willing to be more confrontational with Erdogan after the deal bought them time. Erdogan himself and the majority of Turkish people don't have an interest in EU membership anymore either way (and why would they after constantly having been toyed with by Germany and France?)
