They have had plenty of practice lately, seething after the general election when the exit polls got the blame and then Brexit when they blamed the racists.

The FTSE 100 has plunged about 140 points, or 2%, as trading begins in London following the shock win for Donald Trump in the US presidential election.

The seethe was under way when I turned on at 4am. It was like a royal funeral for much of it too.

Looking forward to listening to James O' Brien on LBC this morning at 10...never heard a man with so much hatred towards Farage and Trump...in the words of Thatcher " let us all rejoice"

BBC has been a a shameful mess over brexit and the US election, time to get rid imo.
|
|
By:
Should be noted the FTSE has been at record highs since Brexit. Gone largely unnoticed by the Britain haters.
No doubt the media will still call today's drop a 'crash'. |

Pound will rebound now as well (for a short time at least) as the USD weakens

Watched BBC coverage from 4am.
Kept showing chart (that Emily woman) and showing whatStates Clinton needed to win to get past 270. Total bias and no mention what trump needed to get over line(and he was in front). Only obsessed with what Clinton needed (although 40 votes behind!) Then when Trump was going to win, started talking about his seats won. Total total bias. BBC, you should be ashamed. |

I listened to it on the World Service and their coverage was quite good, they even interviewed some Mexican's in Tijuana crying into their Tequilas

No smiling faces - oh how glum we are - same on sky ha ha ha!!

Truly fantastic scenes ALREADY on Radio 5 and even Radio Wales with people phoning-in and texting anti-Trump messages from the Planet Deranged.
The Election's over but they're still shouting "HE'S A WAAAAAAAAAY-CIST". Allah only knows how 'Newsnight' are going to cope. They've spent a year or more sneering at Trump. They can barely bring themselves to discuss Trump's arguments, and you rarely see any Pro-Trump guests invited to speak. That's largely because those guests (e.g. the superb Ann Coulter) quickly make mincemeat of the opponent. |

Good morning, Alun. :)
Where have you been, sir? You missed all the fun. It was particularly gratifying to witness Cher walk in to a half empty arena, take a quick look, then turn around and walk out again. |

Good morning Pokermonster.
I slept soundly, confident that America would reject a feeble candidate who described millions of honest hard-working Americans as 'deplorables', who can't bring herself to use the phrase 'Illegal Immigrants', and whose celebrity 'endorsers' include names who support the appalling BLM organisation. I will catch up on the Cher antics (and plenty of other stuff) in due course. (I actually have a soft spot for her. Used to be a hard spot too but I was very young at the time). A great victory wouldn't you say PM? It's all over bar the shouts of "HE'S A WAAAAAAAAAAY-CIST". |

FTSE down 0.38%
We're clearly doomed... Classic on Five Live earlier. A woman phoning in gutted at the result. She uttered the immortal words of the fascist liberal : 'I don't accept it'. Where have I heard that before.... |

on 24 hour bbc news they have three invited guests - not one has a good word for trump - it simply is totally crazy how biased this sh!t is.

Great balance again from the bbc, just interviewing the people who didnt vote for Trump. Wont the media ever learn that they have to represent the voters proportionally.

The BBC is now (pretending to be) worried about the Mexican Peso and Asian Markets of all things. Grave faces all round. (The first time in recorded history that ANY UK media organisation has been obsessing about them).
They're trying to be worried about the FTSE as well but annoyingly for the Beeb their reporter is having to admit the markets aren't panicking here. No-one at the BBC seems to be interested though in runaway UK public spending, or the monumental American National Debt. (The peace-loving 30 year old 'child' migrants presumably will solve both problems). |

The Radio 5 phone-in that normally starts at 09:00 hrs was a bit of a corker if the first few callers were anything to go by. I'm going back in for more later, such was the sobbing on display from 'offended' liberals in their 'safe spaces'.

They keep going on about what a shock it is and how nobody saw this result coming.
Well I did. And so did millions of others in the US and elsewhere. If they took their heads out of their ar$es for a moment and bothered talking to ordinary people without instantly dismissing them as thick, racist morons, then maybe a result such as this (similarly with Brexit) was almost inevitable. |

Sky news headline FTSE 100 sees £37bn plunge as Trump win sparks market turmoil
Markets have been plunged into turmoil after Donald Trump's US election win. The FTSE 100 had a rollercoaster ride as it opened 145 points, or 2% lower, wiping £37bn off the value of top UK-listed companies. But it quickly recovered most of the losses and by later in the morning was little changed on the previous session. ...can't understand why they didn't run the headline, 'FTSE now roughly the same price it closed yesterday' not like sky at all. |

I'm watching CNBC Squakbox and they have said the markets have dropped less than in 2008 or 2012.
