Like allnortherners i am so relieved not to be living in the cesspit they call London !!
Not visited it in 20 years and have no intention of doing so .. Why would anybody want to walk into a cesspit ?? If i wanted what London offers then i will have a holiday in the shanty towns of South Africa- - the Casbahs of Morocco--or the shacks of Rumania.. At least they have sun !! |

all I am doing is posting London incidents. I have no idea who is involved. It is just violence and it is a very dangerous place. What has it got to do with religion. You have raised it. What has it to do with muslims. I most certainly have posted about attacks on muslims - the shopkeeper and the Imam (both sadly killed by other muslims) Shame you didn't see those posts but then your blinkered view would not allow you as you wish to keep bringing religion into these killings/violence in London. WHERE HAVE I SAID ANYTHING ABOUT MUSLIM INVOLVEMENT IN ANY OF THIS PLEASE? |

I can't agree with that 1st time. I have visited London loads of times, although I would never consider living there, I really do envy them with the things they have to do and things on offer there. I even have to travel there to buy my cheese as I've never found it anywhere else apart from Borough Market.

When I tell some people that I'm from London they assume that I'm part of the white flight brigade and launch into full rant mode about what a cesspit London has become. When I tell them I'd move back tomorrow if I could the look on their face can be priceless...total confusion.....not surprising really when most of them seem to get their opinion from a visit once every 20 years.

most people lives consist of going to work coming home having a meal watching a film or a few pints down the pub, besides the getting to work bit which is horrendus in london, most people lives would be the same whatever town ,ciy they lived in,of course londoners confuse all the touristy bits with living in albert square or east ham etc

Same as everywhere - Cuts. That's why?
To answer OP question. Police stations closed, hospitals closed, cuts to staff of both. Councils turning off street lights all night to save money. Criminals not being imprisoned, prisons ffuked too. Too may drugs everywhere. Easy answer, more tax those who get ridiculous incomes, (wouldn't hurt any of you btw). Started in 1979 not 1997 |

The country is going down the pan in many respects - but largely due to peoples attitudes across the board.
What some non frequent visitors maybe fail to realise, is that London is a massively different city depending on where you go. A lot of it is affluent, cosmopolitan, culture rich and (compared to some other major cities) reasonably safe. You can practically get out of your car in some parts of the west end. |
