I think Lily Allen should be aware of a bit of recent history, as she does her best to absolve ISIS, Saddam Hussein, The Taliban and Al Qaeda from any involvement in the situation in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria and laughably pin the blame on British involvement....

Iraq occupied Kuwait between August 1990 and January 1991 — and it was brutal.  In that time, the Iraqi forces committed at least sixteen crimes against the Laws of Armed Conflict as outlined in the Geneva and Hague Conventions. Those crimes include running of at least two dozen torture sites in Kuwait City alone, torturing civilians to the point of death and disfigurement. Kuwaiti women were taken hostage and raped repeatedly. Iraqi occupation forces killed at least 1,082 Kuwaiti civilian non combatants, including women, children, and the mentally handicapped.

'A young woman was gang raped during the destruction of the Calais Jungle, French prosecutors revealed today.

Five men set upon the Ethiopian refugee, who cannot be named for legal reasons, as police and volunteers were clearing the sprawling slum.

The victim was examined by a forensic doctor but had difficulty explaining the attack, on Tuesday morning, because she only speaks an Ethiopian dialect.

She is currently still staying in Calais until a translator can be found, said a source.

It came as prosecutors said three suspects involved in the knifepoint rape of a 38-year-old Afghan interpreter around the squalid shantytown last week could have been people smugglers.' - Daily Mail.

Strange (not) silence from Sky/BBC/Lily Allen about this..

So you leave your 'war torn poverty stricken' country and end up in one of the richest countries on earth (France). What do you do?

It probably wasn't wise to depose Saddam 10 years too late, but you have to make tough decisions in war and you are not going to make the right call every time.  The Western Alliance repatriated Kuwait, prevented Saudi from falling too, took out the terrorist Bin Laden and severely weakened the brutal Taliban.  All good things in my book.

October 10, 1944: Eight hundred children are gassed to death at Auschwitz

63 years ago, on this day in 1944, 800 "Gypsy" children, including more than a hundred boys between 9 and 14 years old, were systematically murdered by the Nazi's at Auschwitz in occupied Poland.

Rail entrance to the Auschwitz administrative center. After processing, people were either sent to Birkenau to die, or Monowitz to work.

The complex consisted of three main camps: Auschwitz I, the administrative center; Auschwitz II (Birkenau), an extermination camp or Vernichtungslager; and Auschwitz III (Monowitz), a work camp, or Arbeitslager.

"A group of Gypsy prisoners, awaiting instructions from their German captors, sit in an open area near the fence in the Belzec concentration camp." Belzec, 1940

Called "gypsies" in English, because of a mistaken belief they descended from Egyptians, they are more appropriately (and less pejoratively) called "Romani" people.

Popular romantic image of the Romani and their itinerant lifestyle. There was an ugly side to it because whenever anything turned up missing, these folks were often blamed, whether there was any evidence to support the allegation or not. Frankly, it was probably more convenient to blame a rootless person than the guy next door.

In 1935, the Nuremberg laws stripped the Romani people living in Nazi Germany of their citizenship, after which they were subjected to violence and imprisonment in extermination camps. The policy was extended in areas occupied by the Nazis during the war, and it was also applied by their allies, notably the Independent State of Croatia, Romania and Hungary.

Because no accurate pre-war census figures exist for the Roma, it is impossible to accurately assess the actual number of victims. Ian Hancock, director of the Program of Romani Studies at The University of Texas at Austin, proposes a figure of up to a million and a half, while an estimate of between 220,000 and 500,000 was made by the late Sybil Milton, formerly senior historian of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.. In Central Europe, the extermination in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia was so thorough that the Bohemian Romani language became totally extinct.

The Romani were singled out for brutal treatment by Hitler's regime early on ostensibly because they were deemed "carriers of disease" and "unreliable elements who cannot be put to useful work." They were marked for extermination along with the Jews of Europe from the earliest years of the war.

Romani people of Bulgaria

In 1950, as European Romani attempted to gain compensation for their suffering, as were other victims of the Holocaust, the German government denied them anything, saying, "Gypsies have been persecuted under the Nazis not for any racial reason but because of an asocial and criminal record." They were stigmatized even in light of the atrocities committed against them.

The councils of the UK, that will end up footing the bill, says it costs £133,000 a year to keep each immigrant child in the UK. A sociologist in Germany has blamed Germans for the lack of progress in integrating new migrants to the country claiming that the Germans themselves need to integrate into migrant cultures.
Sociologist Annette Treibel has a message for Germans when it comes to the problems of integrating the huge amount of migrants who have flooded into the country: it’s probably your fault.

Posing the question of why migrants would want to integrate into Germany when Germans refuse to learn their culture and language, Dr. Treibel claims that it is Germans who need integration courses into migrant cultures, not migrants who should adapt to Germany reports Die Welt.

If you look at the low-level workforce, you will realize why this man is not wrong. Its probably too direct to say that the germans should integrate into the migrant culture. But its not entirely wrong. The country is not run by the germans. its run by the migrants, especially from East Europe. People conveniently forget the reality.

Regarding people working for lower wages and undercutting the workforce, this is not something new. Its a cruel world. Happens everywhere. You should survey the employers and ask them if they want migrants or brits/locals to work on their construction sites for instance. And you'll see the reality. No  one wants to hire the locals. They are lazy and know their rights. Everyone loves the migrants who are cheaper, often work harder, and dont know their rights so you can manipulate them.

I agree, which is why as a First World nation, we have an international aid budget (ring-fenced despite the recent austerity years - correctly IMO) and are a driving force at the UN, International Courts of Law and will commit our (increasingly underfunded and limited) armed forces to humanitarian missions across the world. As a country / society, we are the first in line to support charitable causes, where the individual can choose the cause they wish to financially support. Our instincts are, in the main, good, sound, humanitarian ones and I suspect if even Ron-Russian saw a Muslim being beaten up for no reason other than he was a Muslim, he would intervene in some way.

However, there is a world of difference between pragmatic, hands-on humanitarianism and liberal bedwetting.

1 million new homes are to be built by 2020. many new schools too.

The problem is that immigrants are normally relocated in places like London and Birmingham, cities already overcrowded, the aim is to help them settle in by moving them to communities that speak their language and have the same culture, but to stop problems like lack of school places, new immigrant families need to start being moved into much smaller towns and villages, spread the load.

We should never have invaded to Middle East, that is Muslim land......and if we could only end that civil war in Syria

they will not need to come here...note to our politicians, get weaving!

Back in the day when the workforce was dominated by men and gay sex was illegal or frowned upon, it was much easier for Muslims to integrate into this country.  Now we are a much more liberal society, young mentally challenged Muslim men who yearn for a dominant place in society, can only achieve this by joining the Caliphate and butchering a few infidels.

Yes,you have a point Clydebank,

That is what I feel as well, frankly I preferred it that wayBlush.
But what we done in the Middle East does affect Muslims, I don't see how it cannot.

We have two different cultures, I knew Enoch was right, it always leaves problems

One of them is 16 year old Ahmed Mustafa.  He left his Luton home in 2013, then aged 20, to join his brothers for Jihad in the Caliphate.  Three years and 5,000 miles on the run later, he turns up as a child refugee Jungle.  Ahmed is hoping to retake his A Levels and take Chemical Engineering at Uni.

It is also the role of women that is seen differently. The Muslims separate men and women's roles very formally.

We give women more freedom, which is right. But we seem to trying to define men and women as the same, which I am not happy

with myselfBlush. This is clearly causing problems with Muslims though.

One rule for us, another for them and their men.  Wonder what the feminists on the guardian have to say about men protecting males who assault women?

Just saw a video on facebook where 3 policemen tasered a burqa clad woman.

And then they took quite a good beating from the husband :D

Punches right to their faces :D

Kicks in the stomach

And he even managed to drag one of them on the ground :D

Probably a taser took him down at the end.

Nah don't think he was doing anything in the name of religion. They tasered his wife and that flicked on the switch.

If he was serving his religion even the people making videos and cheering would be dead by now.

Spiegel Online said a Taser had not been used but it is unclear what stopped the assault.

A police spokesman told the site: "The attacker was an Englishman who was worried about his wife. She had circulatory problems."

ah right the wife had circulatory problems, so quite acceptable to act like that! Crazy
