So, thanks
Report PatraTheCat • October 27, 2016 2:43 PM BST
I've never liked jeans, so stopped for good at around 21 I guess.

I see what you mean, though. A 90-year-old bloke in jeans would look a bit ridiculous.
Report mememe • October 27, 2016 2:53 PM BST
Don't let them dishearten you, Lester.

May have been only 33 posts in 12 years, but it's original.

I may start  thread, such as "famous people who look daft in jeans" ... Jeremy Clarkson (but would look daft in anything, IMO)
Report scandanavian_haven • October 27, 2016 3:12 PM BST
don't scare of potential new posters Johnny, this place needs new blood Mischief

This is a perfect question to ask for a chit chat forum imo.

If you're talking about casual wear than I'd say 40.

But over 40's who do labour type work, jeans are no problem.

But men wearing jeans over 40 to the pub is as bad as men at any age wearing lycra whilst riding a bike.
Report Johnny_Mustang • October 27, 2016 3:17 PM BST
OK, my apologies to the OP.

There was something in the Sunday Times recently (may have been Adrian Gill) and I seem to recall the cut-off age is 40.

Depends on the colour.  Blue Denim is a no no over 40.. Black can be worn at any age ....as long as they're not too tight.....as my new pair are.
Report crags • October 27, 2016 6:00 PM BST
I've kept a pair of black Levis 501? that I bought about 15 years ago, very good nick and they weren't cheap.. hoping that they will fit me again one day

Report HH Sultan Vinegar • October 27, 2016 7:00 PM BST
I was recently wondering if people still wore denim jackets. I hadn't noticed a bloke in one for ages.
Then Peter Barlow turned up in one. Plain

Report lfc1971 • October 27, 2016 8:04 PM BST
Wearing jeans after the age of 30 doesn't look good on a man. They are a sign of an unreliable, unproud, even dishonest character.
Report lfc1971 • October 27, 2016 8:06 PM BST
I have no symphony for anyone who wears them, unless they are working in industry, or poor.

Report cruso • October 27, 2016 8:36 PM BST
I would like to know at what age the yoof of today are going to stop wearing hoodies and tracksuit bottoms.

Now that is a pathetic look whatever age you are..
Report STUDYFORM • October 27, 2016 10:32 PM BST
Now there's an idea.

All over 50's could take on the trousers halfway down the arse look, with the pants showing.
Women too!

I'd stay home if that happened come to think of it.
Report Alices • October 27, 2016 10:45 PM BST
Don't matter what you wear when you're over 50, cos you won't be on the pull.

def very little correlation between age and jeans wearing from my observations over the last few days.

Funnily enough, Ken Bruce was briefly talking about this on his show today. He reckons denim jeans are fine at any age, but the double denim thing is a no no.
Report jollyswagman • November 2, 2016 8:01 PM GMT

Report Platini • November 2, 2016 8:25 PM GMT
great question, OP.

weird thing is I never liked jeans when I was young, so didn't start wearing them till I was well into my twenties. So I should get a pass to wear them into my 50s Laugh
