when people stop believing in fairy stories to make us feel better about death, it won't matter.
when we're dead we're dead, our genes survive, that's all that is important. seems so obvious to us mortals. |

Read the article - they are against turning ashes into Jewellery and paperweights. Mixing ashes with other things. Basically treating the dead with irreverence.
I don't think they said - Unfortunately no matter how good you've been in your former life it's no good as you are considered a Pantheist. in the article? I don't believe in organized churches that make rules that are not in the bible. VS 10:41-45 - “41 Hearing this, the ten began to feel indignant with James and John. 42 Calling them to Himself, Jesus said to them, “You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them; and their great men exercise authority over them. 43 “But it is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; 44 and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all. 45 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”” – When the rest of the disciples become indignant at James and John for asking for positions of prominence in Jesus’ coming kingdom, He yet again takes this opportunity to remind them that greatness in His kingdom comes as a result of serving. that would put the pope at the back of the queue? |

Best to find out what hand your misses wipes her arse with, before you get turned into a memorial ring. |

Zorro you only posted half a story.
The point being made is that it is also forbidden to keep the ashes at home. |

Think of how much grief, hurt and pain this has caused to millions.
I listened to a radio discussion yesterday and an elderly gentleman was grief stricken because he wasn't allowed to get his ashes mixed with his wife's. Or think of the sailor's wife that scattered her husbands ashes at sea and is now told she done the wrong think. Some people take this mumbo jumbo very serious and this decision will only cause stress to them. But hey, the richest Church isn't making the profits it needs so what's a bit of stress when it comes to business. |

No Zorro but you posted this
Read the article - they are against turning ashes into Jewellery and paperweights. Mixing ashes with other things. Basically treating the dead with irreverence. What's wrong with being able to keep the ashes at home as lots of people do? And why can you not mix husband and wife ashes? Surely neither is treating the dead with irreverence as you say? |

I'll tell you what happens then, It was my old job to clear houses for a living.
the removers come into a house and see an urn. It has no monetary value so it's put in a black bag and makes it's way to a tip. instead of sitting in a cemetery. your remains are with the slime in the landfill. I personally don't care about the body and it's remains. It's not of any consequence. But the churches do, I'm just pointing out why they do. religion is ceremonies and men who need structure in their lives, nothing to do with Christ. I'm sure those that burn up in wars and house fires find their way to God. Those that believe in him. |
