Seems to me like we need one.

They throw around inaccurate, lazy, catch-all labels such as 'lefty' and 'luvvie' with gay abandon when describing those with alternate views.

A catchy label for this cabal of dissafected, regressive and unenlightened grumpy old men would surely enter the popular lexicon.

Any suggestions?

That's too much of a mouthful.

We need a catchy one-word phrase.

enlightenment would do just fine as a collective noun for Brexiteers.

How can others just not see the EU is corrupt (check every year's audit report) and for that reason I'm oot.

ok, I won't respond then ...

but I like an enlightenment of Brexiteers ... it has a noble ring to it and if I did reply I would say just that.

There is a song that you could pen for the brexiters..

He is an Englishman!
For he himself has said it,
And it's greatly to his credit,
That he is an Englishman!
That he is an Englishman!

He is an Englishman!
For he might have been a Roosian,
A French or Turk or Proosian,
Or perhaps Italian!
Or perhaps Italian!

He is an Englishman!
But in spite of all temptations
To belong to other nations,
He remains an Englishman!

Morrissey talking today -

The British political class has never quite been so hopeless, but the same can be said for the USA. What has happened is that news media can no longer attach any nobility to old-style politics because although politicians do not and cannot change, the people the world over have changed. What could be more grotesquely stupid than the Clinton-Trump coverage? As for Brexit, the result was magnificent, but it is not accepted by the BBC or Sky News because they object to a public that cannot be hypnotised by BBC or Sky nonsense. These news teams are exactly the same as Fox and CNN in that they all depend on public stupidity in order to create their own myth of reality. Watch them at your peril!

"I am shocked at the refusal of the British media to be fair and accept the people’s final decision just because the result of the referendum did not benefit the establishment.

"It was a shock to hear how the BBC persistently denigrated everyone who voted to Leave.

"They have managed to accuse, judge and convict the majority as racist, drunk and irresponsible."

I am not going to reply, only to say this, one more thing.

if remainers like crags mock and critizise then people will not trust them, and they don`t deserve to be trusted....

do not reply to them.

A great number of folks with left wing views voted to leave the European Union, a fact of which many appear to remain in complete denial.

As such, they're rather unlikely to also be Trump supporters.

If we triumphant, nation-saving betfarians were posting on this thread, then we would probably suggest that Remainers should now be called ...

the naysayers ... definition ...

1. a person who habitually expresses negative or pessimistic views: Despite a general feeling that things were going well, a few naysayers tried to cast gloom.

Definition needs slight amendment ... should read a minority (not few) naysayers etc

The most stunning and incredible thing about nearly everything is that I find myself agreeing with Ozymandius!!!!

I've been labelling unbending Tories on here 'Twunts' for the last few years, many of the same people seem  to be the Pro-Trump, anti EU ones who are so prolific.

The linking of the 2 isn't automatic, it just appears on this forum quite a bit from the same culprits.

I can see effigies of Brexiteers being burnt at the stake by future impoverished generations.

75% of young people in the UK voted for Remain, but it is they who will have to pick up the pieces from the shambles that their parents and grandparents have left them.

The cold hard reality of an Ingerlund in the globalised world will eventually see off these nostalgics and isolationists forever.

75% of the ones who could be bothered voted remain, i can't remember the actual figures but around two thirds of 18-24 year olds didn't bother to vote

Fair vote, majority voted out.

BTW, like a lot of you who voted to remain in are not thick or ngullible, neither are we who voted out.
