I am 58 and am facing a few options re to take early retirement and a nice cash lump sum and good pension, or do I keep going a bit longer /

my dad died at 59 work nearly 7 days a week .work will be here when we are dead and gone

On 6th April 2010 they raised the bar from 50 to 55; can you imagine how that feels when you're just two years away! Cry

indeed baron, I was just looking for some toughts around how retirement is as a life style after all you have done is work all your life

I retired at 55 with no regrets. As long as you're are financially secure go for it. Life's too short.

I don't think I'll ever retire. Work isn't really work if it's what you do because you enjoy it.

Or those that have money tied up in old defined benefit schemes. Future generations will never see the likes of those again.

i retired last year but got bored, and found myself betting on here all fookin week  just for something to do  ,doing part time gardening about 10 hours a week  self employed now , enjoying it but winter is a coming !

when I retire my plan is to follow the reng cricket team arolund the world

and to live somewhere where the withier is better
