His liberty was taken away by the state unjustly. He should be able to sue the state. Whether he can I have no idea.

some of the new evidence may have been unreported in the press

quite right too.

any sane, rational jury, with a appreciation of what reasonable doubt means could never convict him based on the evidence.

that's not to say he's innocent; but not guilty is the correct conclusion based on what is known.

Agree with DS entirely.

Wasn't the new evidence that some bloke came forward and said he did her in a similar manner a few weeks afterwards?

the woman who accused Evans must have committed perjusy then, if Evans isn't guilty.

What happens?

The woman never accused anyone, that is the crazy thing in all this.
She never gave evidence at either trial.
By:

When: 14 Oct 16 15:42
she didn't accuse him. the crown prosecuted evans. that's the worst bit of this. she's had to put up with a boatload of grief because the cps pursued this.

the new evidence isn't even really important. the first jury were just plain thick and irrational.

again, i'm not excusing his behaviour, it was f*cking low, and i'm not saying he's innocent. But no sensible jury could be confident enough to convict.

gave evidence at this trial zen.

When: 14 Oct 16 15:43
The court had heard evidence from two of the young woman's former lovers, with one of them saying she had "shocked" him during a drunken liaison, saying of their meeting: "She was expecting sex to happen as soon as we got into the house".

The possibility she is a drunken nymph will have swayed it.

I got this off sky news DStyle

The complainant had not given evidence in either trial, with the prosecution saying she thought her drink had been spiked and she could not remember what had happened.

Zen ...

apologies but I've not followed much of this ...

but did the CPS bring a case against Evans but didn't want her to testify in either trials??

WTF - I don't get it.  They must have thought she wasn't reliable, etc.

WOW

There was no date rape drug in her system.

Adam Johnson's sentence was far too long and would be good to see him out soon. Not sure if an appeal is ongoing?

She woke up after wetting the bed, could not remember a thing apparently.
Evans and McDonald were interviewed by the police and admitted having sex with her ( neither ejaculated )

As she scold not remember giving consent the CPS pressed on, perhaps more eagerly because of Evans big headed attitude.

So the lass only pursued it initially to see if she had been date raped, she lost her hand bag as well which annoyed her.

There was no date rape drug in her system.

I don't think that there has to be a date rape drug in their system for it to be classified as a 'date rape', ZenMaster.

There has been numerous men convicted of 'date rape' because women invite men into their homes or go to there homes willingly and then shout rape.

Yes of course annie.

However, these men would require ( the accusers )character witnesses for the retrial.
