Smith has advised reporters that he is receiving death threats 'every day' and 'a lot of hatred' from the Peace-Loving Community, since his 'video' emerged into the public domain. Naturally every such threat must now be fully investigated by Police and the issuers of such threats must feel the full weight of British law.
Why hasn't any Community Leader or so-called 'moderate' Peace-Lover (let alone Politician and/or Police Officer) come forward yet to remind us that Smith has a perfect right in a liberal democracy to 'mock' whomsoever he chooses, and/or any religions he chooses?

Just when you think this country can't get any more insane than allowing foreign criminals over the age of 30 into this country, on the pretence that they were vulnerable young children, think again.
Earlier this week, while our Olympic/Paralympic heroes were attending long-overdue celebrations in Manchester and London, our multiple Olympic medal winning gymnast Louis Smith was visiting various mosques, inexplicably apologising to anyone there who would listen for appearing in a video that is said to have 'mocked' a well-known Peaceful Religion.
Hasn't anyone told him (or Mosque attendees) yet that we live in Great Britain, a liberal democracy of hundreds of years standing, where our citizens are free to mock who and what we please. Including religions. At the mosques he naturally should have been informed of this, asked to stop wasting his/their time, congratulated for his sporting achievement and encouraged to go and enjoy the well-deserved celebrations.

Do we assume that all writers of tv progs and films that have ever poked fun at Christianity (Father Ted, All Gas & Gaiters, Meaning Of Life etc) will now be hauled over the coals and stoned for offending the rest of us? That 'Newsnight' piece was an embarrassment to journalism, not that we've come to expect much from that silenced and cowed profession where questioning the Peace-Loving Community is concerned.

I never comment on these types of threads as opinions on both sides seem to be polarised to an extreme extent.
But this news is quite frankly ridiculous and I see it as the thin end of a very long wedge towards eroding our freedoms altogether. Why those in authority choose to pander to a very noisy minority is beyond me and will only serve to encourage that minority to increase the pressure in any other similar situations. I worry about where all this is going to end and the country that our children and children's children will inherit.

Was good to see Nicky Campbell, who is usually very very PC, giving a Muslim a hard time in a discussion on the subject on 5 Live this morning. Mentions of Dave Allen and the Meaning Of Life in said discussion. No mention of the death threats though which should be a big part of the story.

One MP at Prime Minister's Questions today did raise the issue and said something along the lines of what the hell is happening to our country when Louis Smith is getting death threats and having to apologise for having a laugh. There was an uneasy silence with all the other MPs deciding not to cheer and hear hear him just in case they end up on 'the list'.
Poor Louis, the very poster-boy for Diversity/Modern Britain, one of the Sacred Olympic Heroes and loved by the BBC for winning the Strictly Come Dancing World Championship of 2012. Sadly found to be completely out of his league up against a Peaceful Religion. A routine 3-0 win for the latter, with Smith seemingly lucky to get nil.
No contest, and no-one in the House of Commons or the British Liberal Media will speak for him. No news either of any police officers tracking down let alone arresting any 'death threat' perpetrators. There aren't even any candle-lighting, hand-holding, virtue-signalling sorts out there proclaiming 'Je Suis Louis Smith'.
