Totally shocking!

Some people have made a BIG mistake with them

Flimsy weightless and slippy. When folded they stay folded and will be a nightmare for shop staff.
Also will be very easily lost and I bet it won't be long before they are replaced!

Posted this by mistake on the Horse Racing forum.

Since then a server in the village shop says you have to be careful as they stick together!

To compound the felony, it would appear that the ATMs are confused with them, as they are so thin, and lightweight, and one poster said he withdrew £40.00
and got three tenners and four new fivers!

Haven't seen any yet, but I'm guessing that they are similar to Romanian notes. which are also made of a plastic material. If you have a roll of them, it is quite easy to lose them, especially if you are drunk! They can be hard to separate, and sometimes they can kind of spring open and fall out of your hands, I believe that they have these plastic notes in Australia too.

i've seen one, it seemed like if you had a wad of them they might not
fold to well...yes as you say Des you could pull a wad out & it could be like a pack
of card going on the floor.....maybe that's not the case at all as said ive only
seen the one

You can’t fold them

This is nonsense. They may be plastic, but they are easily foldable in the quantities most people will use. What they do have is “bounce-backability” when you take them out of a wallet.

Shocked

Not seen one yet.

Yep, i think they will be a bit awkward to begin with, Ron. I can see a lot of them going AWOL on a night out or something. Grin They might get better as they get more used and crumpled up.

I think they're bloody brilliant!

Don't understand the negativity.

Is it because they're 'something different'?

If it means more fivers in circulation (which they were designed for as they're more long lasting) it will be a massive bonus.

Had a few pass through my hands, they had notes like this in Australia 25 years ago. I think they are ok personally.

I very rarely carry cash these days, so the chances of having several new fivers at the same time are quite small. That said, the Romanian ones feel quite strange to begin with, so I guess these new fivers will also take a bit of getting used to.

Nothing wrong with them, had them up here for years. Never seen a fiver in a Cash Machine. Minimal withdrawal £10.

I agree about their size though. Very small compared to my White Fivers Crazy

haha! That's it exactly, Mac - too many people on here would still have us using The Pony Express, Carrier Pigeons and Groats!

Life moves on - thankbloodygoodness!
