World heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has announced his retirement from boxing.

The controversial boxer, who recently pulled out of his rematch with Wladimir Klitschko due to mental health issues, labeled the industry "the saddest thing I ever took part" and "a pile of s***".

He tweeted: "Boxing is the saddest thing I ever took part in, all a pile of s***, I'm the greatest, and I'm also retired, so go suck a d***, happy days."

The saddest thing he's taken part in....well, until the inevitable appearance on 'Celebrity Big Brother' to keep his rampant ego satisfied for a while.

It made him rich...Tyson should not be too sad about it?

Yes he seems to have gone quite strange....I don't know if something has happened in his private life?

I am strange myself, but everybody expects thatBlush

I wish him well, but I feel something may have happened?????
Report ebulGery • October 4, 2016 12:53 AM BST
Well it seems he has not retired nowCrazy

He cannot expect to keep his title if he will not defend it against Wladimir.

I don't what problems he is having....but he is a boxer and a very good, so I urge him to stick to that.

and earn some very good money.

Tyson Fury's friend Billy Joe Saunders fears the heavyweight will be dead by 30 if he "doesn't get the help he needs".

The fellow traveller and world champion, 27, has known the WBA and WBO heavyweight champion since he was 14, and fears he is in an "extremely bad place".

"I'm very concerned that he won't see 30 years old," he said. "Very concerned. If the public don't get behind him, and he doesn't get the help he needs, it could affect his life and his family's lives forever.

"The travelling community's behind him. But it's out of the travelling community [hands] - it's the press that need to give him a breather, a pick-me-up, a pat on the back.

"I'm not saying everything he's done is right - not even a 'You've done right, you've done wrong' - (he needs) a 'It'll be alright, don't worry about it, chin up'. Give him a bit of that and perhaps he might see a little bit of light, (it) might give him a little bit of confidence.

"I've spoken to him, but he's down, he's very down, he's not in a mood to talk to anybody. He's mentally not there.

"Nothing shocks me at the moment, because he's not mentally right. He needs help. He's in a bad place at the minute. I know him very well; extremely bad place."

What do you make of all this?

Firstly, if Fury is undergoing a mental breakdown, you have to give him sympathy and hope he's getting treatment and / or good advice, no matter what you think of him.

Secondly though, he's been managed by his Uncle, eschews conventional and civilised methods of expressing himself, doing very little to endear himself to society and boxing in general and makes a huge virtue out of his gypsy heritage and lifestyle - making it very tough for conventional society to warm to him or feel any offer of help and support would be received with anything other than a stream of abuse or irrational drivel.

I hope nothing bad happens to him and people who are supposed to look after him do look after him.

He is not tied to SKY and Hearn so making it in the UK was hard enough and got lynched upon straight after his title wins

He told Buncie last year that he was going to give it all up and become a politician because he saw a homeless man or something along those lines.
Hes been ticking for quite a while, he needs to leave the chemicals alone a bit.
Report dustybin • October 4, 2016 2:58 PM BST
I think he might have mild psychosis if that isnt an oxymoron.

Hes been indulging some pretty eclectic parts of his personality that may have been over doing it for show, or he might just have slipped down the rabbit hole a little bit if hes been retreating into drugs.
He wants to get his head down and leave the public stage and twitter for a while.

Report dustybin • October 4, 2016 3:16 PM BST
There is another possibility.
That he really doesnt want to lose his undefeated tag and this time klitschko will be really after him and hes not as confident as he tells others he is.
Klitschko cant have long left so if he sidesteps this encounter he can get back on with business when Vladimir retires.
Report ebulGery • October 4, 2016 6:41 PM BST
Yes I doubt Wladimir is happy with these postponements....but there are plenty of others would like to take

Tyson on....

I don't know what has happened to Tyson?, but if he does not fight soon he should be stripped off his title.

But Wladimir is very awkward to fight, plenty would rather fight Fury

Report crags • October 4, 2016 11:21 PM BST
It takes a lot of effort to get ready for a fight at their level. Fury isn't in the best shape at the moment, certainly not mentally.
Report dustybin • October 5, 2016 8:33 AM BST
Ebul

Peter fury himself said the next fight between them would be 50-50.
Fury had nothing to lose first time, others had been and gone attempting the same so he had a way out if he lost.
This time he has the title an a well experienced winner hell bent to retain it before retirement.

Put it this way I'd have a few quid on wlad if they went again.
