He also gave Gary Neville a ringing endorsement upon his appointment by Valencia.

Valencia won 3 of their 18 games under Neville.

Great judge of a manager, obviously.

Will always wonder what investigative journalists would find if they started digging on Ferguson.
Report Mikael D'Haguenet • September 28, 2016 2:31 PM BST
Well his son was mentioned in a Panorama expose.

Apple, tree etc.

Well his son was mentioned in a Panorama expose.

Thought his brother was also cited. As a result of that Whisky Nose didn't appear on or give an interview to the BBC, match of the day etc, for a number of years. Spiteful so and so.

Sounds quite loyal to me.

Most would probably tell the BBC where to go if they dug stuff up about their family too
Report TheChaser • September 28, 2016 6:21 PM BST
stickyvicky would you give interviews to the BBC ?

They hid Jimmy and his pals for how many years

Hadn't realised it was 7 years.
It's not a case if I would give interviews or not, Fergie and Man Utd were contractually obliged to give interviews to match of the day and other BBC football programmes, they decided break the contract and were fined accordingly.
Report jamesdean • September 28, 2016 6:33 PM BST
Makes him even better. He would rather pay a fine than bow to the ****s
Report TheChaser • September 28, 2016 6:33 PM BST
They used to send the assistant out so they still gave interviews

baldy and the portuguese guy where on MOTD a lot i think
Report TheChaser • September 28, 2016 6:34 PM BST
exactly jamesdean

don't see no problem here

bow down to the bow down to the ...... BBC ERRRRRRRRRR NO
Report TheChaser • September 28, 2016 6:38 PM BST
Fined accordingly Laugh

Ferguson immediately made it clear he would not comply, no matter how much he would be fined. The tariff was initially set at £1,000 per match, escalating as the season went on. By now, it could feasibly have been more than £100,000.

As it turned out, Ferguson was not fined a penny because
, before the Premier League had decided the exact structure, the BBC asked them to delay the punishments, with Thompson indicating he would become personally involved if a meeting could be set up.

The old saying  'shooting  the messanger' seem appropriate here in Fergies' case.

Why did all these contractual rules apply to all the other clubs but not Utd and Fergie.?

Refer to last 'Fact' in Rafa Benitez list of Facts about Fergie at the time.

"We had a meeting in Manchester with managers and FA about the Respect campaign. And I was very clear, forget the campaign because Mr Ferguson was killing the referees, killing Mr Atkinson, killing Mr Hackett. But he is not punished. How can you talk about the respect campaign and criticise the referee every single week? You can analyse the facts and come to your own decision and ideas."

Fergie was a Footballing Tyrant back in the day

A tyrant (Greek τύραννος, tyrannos), in its modern English usage, is an absolute ruler unrestrained by law or constitution, or one who has usurped legitimate sovereignty. Often described as a cruel character, a tyrant defends his position by oppressive means,
