Wish he had gone forward for leader....good old fashioned
genuine no nonsense scouser.
Very articulate just think he is a bit on the senior side

Articulate?  Are you for real.  This is the thug who has to pretend it was "just a joke" every time some of his nastiness is exposed.

One of the biggest criticisms of Corbyn is the fact that he gave a senior job to Mad Mac.

Hi Dotch..
Sorry I know the guy has back form...
Don't know too much about him but
sometimes you don't have to utter pure
prose in your speech to be articulate
maybe his direct incisive delivery
could be considered articulate.

Another one trying to re-write his history with lies.
With him and Jeremy at the top Labour will never be electable.

I'm very saddened to learn of your views on John McDonnell, TM.

This is the man who gave a speech stating that the IRA should be honoured for the bombings which killed so many innocent people and also said he would assassinate Margaret Thatcher if he could go back in time.  He should be nowhere near British government in my view.
Report Pokermonster • September 26, 2016 1:40 AM BST
Clive Lewis, the shadow defence secretary, came across well on Sky News yesterday.  He's a genuine left-winger, I believe, but seems far more intelligent than the rest of the opposition front bench.

him quite convincing.

He openly supported the ira along with Jeremy.
Shared many a platform with them but more worrying attended some of their 'social' events.
Told blatant lies about it on QT first time around.
As PM says he should be nowhere near the British government.
Report Pokermonster • September 26, 2016 1:58 AM BST
Likewise, TM.  You always strike me as very measured and thoughtful, sir.

Very true, we all say things we would like to take back now and again, but some of McDonnell's comments were beyond the pale.  I think the Thatcher comment was supposed to be a joke, one in extremely poor taste of course, but a joke nonetheless.  Saying that the IRA bombers should be honoured, however, is simply unforgivable in my mind.

This investigation by The Telegraph uncovered some uncomfortable evidence, none of it denied by McDonnell or Corbyn.  It's worth a read if you have a spare five minutes, TM.

they reduced tax that supports the infrastructure of society.

Britain’s Labour Party’s conference has played host to the foreign-funded Hope Not Hate group, which has said Labour must start talking to “racist” working class people if the party wants to defeat the UK Independence Party.

Speaking at an event at Labour’s conference in Liverpool on Monday, John Page from the notorious Hope Not Hate group, said that supporters of mass migration are “smarter than” working class voters who have turned away from the party to support the UK Independence Party (UKIP). He insisted that the only way Labour can reclaim such voters is for activists to go out and speak with them in order to change their opinions.

As for the year being 2016, the politics are heading backwards towards Victorian values, things are tougher for most people than they were in the 1970's, but blaming (first) Unemployed and sick people, followed by (second) immigrants and getting the assistance of relatively well paid and out of touch media folk who all sing from the same hymn sheet has managed to sway millions via both massive and misleading anti-left and pro-brexit reporting.

Ever since Corbyn was elected leader, he and the Labour party have been "damned if they do and damned if they don't".
From whether or not to attend things, to bow, to wear a tie, to comment, to campaign. No matter who says what it seems to be wrong, particularly with the vast majority of the media, which is inherently tory, or at least aligned to the Blair type "New" Labour.
Here are 3 links to studies which will confirm what I'm saying. And they're not from Breitbart or the Mail.
Neither are from organisations with any vested interest.

I wonder how many of you will choose to read and/or take anything new from them?

This is not a case of criticising a politician because you don't happen to like their social, economic or fiscal policies.

We're talking about a man who advocated the murder of British citizens and honouring those who actually committed such heinous acts of brutality.  It is important to note that McDonnell does not deny these truths about his past, but a few grovelling apologies on television are simply not good enough in this instance, the man is running for high office in the country whose people he once said only heeded to "bullets and bombs."

The very fact that this man is permitted to be shadow chancellor brings shame to all of us, not just the Labour Party.
Report Dotchinite • September 28, 2016 10:25 AM BST
