I was trying to get a calcium supplement to help my creaky bones.
Hitting fifty and feeling my age. Stomach acid was low, so finding it
difficult to absorb calcium. after 45 it gets problematic. That's why
arthritis sets in, low stomach acid. I was warned off Calcium carbonate as
it's just a rock and will just increase calcium plaques and increase the chances
of heart attacks and stones. Calcium citrate was mentioned but that is costly.
But recently I found out that calcium is in everything, it's just not gonna get absorbed
there's no reason to believe swallowing more will get it absorbed. So I did some
research and found out that increasing vit c can help and increasing silica in the diet can help.
I don't buy supplements anymore  - i go to plants high in the minerals.
silica - from sand can be found in potatoes grown in sand. (google foods high in silica).
vit c - from lemon juice or apple cider vinegar.

spoon of honey, two caps of ac vinegar, hot water... pinch of ceyenne pepper if you like a kick.

vit c and silica promote calcium that's floating around the body to be utilized and drawn back into the bones.

How do you know that you need more calcium?
Report ZenMaster September 12, 2016 4:31 PM BST
Too much calcium will kill you.
This is often how patients with bone cancer die.

was a big fizzy drink junkie - it's acidic, to counter the acidic nature of the drinks the body leeches calcium out of the bones. My bones just feel weaker. Even though I have lost 4 stones. reduced to drinking flat water. no frills.
you need a big garden to grow your own spuds with sand. been looking at farms that grow spuds on sand. most on internet are in England.

I thought many potatoes were grown in the desert these days anyway, particularly in the winter.
I think roast potatoes are not so good these days and maybe the growth method is one reason why.

On the subject of potatoes, Jersey Royals ain't what they used to be?
I was told it's because the farmers are now not allowed to use seaweed as a mulch in the growing process.
(EU diktat again?)
Is this right?
They're still my favourites anyway.

My dog swears by rainwater which he laps up straight from the pools that form on the pavement.

He won't drink out of plastic either.

Well not as far as I know he doesn't.

Plastic bottles = 40p for two litres
Glass bottles = 10x that?

Go figure.

My tomatoes prefer the rainwater I collect for them, Cripps.  They taste much sweeter with it, anyway.

Nothing wrong with Tap water - If you live in a proper part of the country, served by local reservoirs filled from local hills... but, if you live in areas like London where 65% comes from polluted rivers - well ...

- and, surely, the vast majority of Bottled Water is just the same as most Tap Water.

Did you not see Del Boy's scam Grin  .... Bottled Water, biggest con on earth.

Most bottled water in plastic - estrogen in plastic leeches into  water?

i fill a glass jug from tap and one hour later the chlorine dissipates.

All spirits/booze in glass bottles? but booze is a poison, so that's okay.

remember the golden rule - always get some poison with yer food, if you survive it you get stronger .... or you dwindle away in chronic pain?
