I wonder why Protestants thought the core of Christianity could be found only in the Bible, a Catholic publication that also includes Jewish writings? The books it contains include ancient Hebrew texts and Christian texts, both oral (tradition) and written. I think it was finally completed about the year 296 but I don't know the month. It was approved by the Pope at the time.
